Posture > Too much lag > Body stall after impact ***10.6.21 update

SEE 10.6.21 POST FOR VIDEO UPDATES

Happy to receive your two cents if you have some knowledge on the swing.  I'm a low handicap (and was formerly in the golf industry for a number of years).

Ball flight problems: Straight push when missing (playable), smother draw when missing big (not playable).  My club path is in-to-out quite a bit and I maintain a pretty significant amount of lag from the top to impact.

Setup/backswing:  I've used my setup (shoulder tilt) to encourage an ascending club through impact with some loft for the driver.  Launch numbers are really efficient.  I've always had posture issues to the top of backswing with all clubs.

Post impact: body stall into extension = rotating club face and described misses.

You have my old swing. Looks like your takeaway is immediately inside. The face is a foot from the ball and would barely miss the barrier so you have to rotate so hard to get square, and it all has to be timed perfectly. If your release is a millisecond to late - block.  Too early, killing gophers.

@Valtiel or @TheDeanAbides would be able to help more than I can from a technical standpoint.

You also have a pretty good amount of arm overrun at the top (I still fight that).

Your shoulders stop turning here:

But your club head ends up here:

Bring that takeaway less inside and think about a Rahmbo backswing.

Gotta agree with D0. Watched it many times, couldn't figure out what wasn't quite right... It's that wristy take-away.

I have tweaked my takeaway to be more up as opposed to inside. Second focus has been pure rotation in transition to come less from inside.  This second focus is also geared to removing the stall.  Will have to work through the tweaks as misses have been much wider as of recent.

Are they worse, or just larger in a consistent manner? Your swing looks much more compact and fluid. Old compensations take time to work their way out of your swing.

If you know about @MonteScheinblum he has a video series that would be as helpful to you as they have been for me. BroomForce for the F'ing win.

Don't I know it.  It takes time and commitment to the process.  Misses are indicative of inconsistent face angle at impact; sometimes wide open = push slice, sometimes shut = pull hook.

Misses before almost NEVER curved left.  Push was playable. Push draw was stock. Overdraw/smother hook came in every now and then but isn't too common.

The better takeaway will ultimately prove very helpful. At your high level, you’ll only stall when the club face is rolled open in the takeaway, so you can instinctively give yourself a millisecond to square the face back up.

You may hit some hooks for a minute while making the change. If so, just “hold off” the release a bit and let your  club face and more neutral path do the heavy lifting
