Titleist 591 (JDM)

Anyone familiar with this oldie?

Alright, can anyone help me with this Titleist set I came across today at a local shop? I know they're forged and Japan-only? Sorry the pic is so lousy but only had my camera phone on me. I was looking to get a set of these roughly 5 years ago but don't recall having so much offset and being so large. I'd say size-wise they look like the old Mizuno COMP EZ. Is there another version of these with the same cavity design (that's how I recognized these)? Maybe 691 if there was such a model. I swear they weren't so huge.

if memory serves me correctly, while they are a japan only release; they werent really a true titleist iron. i dont really remember too many specifics, but something along the lines of component type company contracted out by acushnet japan or something like that.

Compnent type company? So they weren't Muira or Endo forged?

It does look like or some resemblance to Kyoei golf RAF line. [url="http://www.kyoeigolf.co.jp/raf/index.html"]http://www.kyoeigolf.co.jp/raf/index.html[/url] Kyoei is a forging house in Japan that makes the Vega line plus other OEM products like the KZG forged and Chikara wedges.

Awesome, Duffy. Kyoei forged is great news. Looks like the 591's are the RAF-001i and I'm guessing the ones I wanted were like the RAF-801i. I just don't recall the set I wanted having a number model on there.

So can you tell me a little bit about the VEGA line? Probably hard to get here?

No sure who carry the complete Vega line but I know Tourspecgolf carries a few models.

They are Miura forged and a great iron, super hard to find. You see them on ebay every now and then, but rarely in stores to try. Supposedly they are super soft though.
