No turn cast: the opposite of the Malaska move?

The way I was shown the Jim Hardy release by a plane truth instructor was different.  At the top I’d start my downswing by applying pressure in my right forefinger to release/throw the club down the plane line keeping the club face square to it.  No rolling action like Malaska and no feelings in the left arm either.  It feels like the right forearm stays very square to the body with a throwing action across the body into the follow through which takes it left.  The right wrist goes from extension to flexion in the process as it throws.

it requires a good load in the right wrist extension at the top and a feeling of the right hand facing away from you so the club face squares to the plane (think like an explanar hoop) before coming down - like a motorcycle move at the top.

It instantly added a lot of power with good accuracy.  Then I got lost with that instructor - my body rotation and weight transfer going through diminished and I got too steep and crossed over at the top after he got me trying to get my right elbow up and behind my shirt seam on my backswing almost like a lawnmower starting moving with my right arm.  This just got me crossed over looking at the top and off plane with a very hands in club out takeaway and I lost some right wrist extension too.  The right shoulder was almost internally rather than externally rotated.  He got me doing the Jim Hardy bucket drill too which was also awful for me and my tendencies and got my right elbow flying out with my left arm pinned across my chest and not rotating on the way to the top.  It was all vile and I went from playing my best golf to my worst.  It also made me lose my posture worse than ever on my backswing.

I’m now aiming for keeping my right elbow more facing down on my backswing and moving less inside with a low wide feeling on my backswing which loads a lot of weight down into my right foot and a posting up with my left leg on my downswing and initial results seem very good.  The downward loading feeling stops me rising out of my posture a load so then it’s easier to feel I can throw the club through the ball giving it a good whack.  The right shoulder rotates more externally on the backswing with this feeling too and as the right wrist extends with this it gets the club face feeling like it faces more away from you and square to the plane at the top. Then my right forearm can release square to the body and go across it again on my downswing as the right wrist releases into flexion.  Much closer to the feeling when I was swinging well last year although the posting up on my left leg is the big downswing swing thought now.

I can now at least relate this better to what Monte describes in his efficient swing teachings.

The Malaska move feels nothing like that to me.  I’d experimented with it before and it was awful for me with all that rotation of forearm stuff going on.  Definitely not my understanding of a RIT style release at all although I’m no expert even though I’ve ready the Hardy book on the release.

They're all just drills to try and balance your swing, we all have different swing faults, and Cast A, Cast B, Malaska, etc are all there to just help balance out any faults.

Personally, i drag the handle a bit and push the ball, the way i balance this is through the likes of the Malaska feel drill, which a few others do as well, it helps sometimes, but then again sometimes it's something else that's off and i need to practice another drill a little to balance out, recently that's been slowing down a little at the top, so feeling the back to target a little longer feel, to balance out being a little quick and pulling the ball now and then.

Anyway, they're all good drills, just not for everyones swing faults, for me feel and real doesn't just apply to drills, it applies to our swing faults, some people think they have an issue, when reality is, it's something completely different, so the drills will never work for them.

Early in hand photos of the new GT2 models t the truck.  As soon as they show up on the range in player's bags we'll get some better from the top photos and hopefully some comparison photos against the last model.
