Simulator shed

Wanting design and build a shed to house a full simulator set up. Want to build it 20 feet long by 16 feet wide. I want to do a lean to style/single slope roof with the short end being 10 feet and tall end being 14 feet. This will give me about a 3/12 pitch. I would like to Carls hitting enclosure and screen. Also I want to be able to use a mat where I can have both lefties and righties center hit. I am leaning towards a uneekor qed launch monitor. Not sold on it yet, just like that I wouldn’t have to move anything for when lefties and righties are playing together. This is about as far as I’ve got and would love some input/advice in all of this.

Sounds like a good plan. You’ve probably thought about this. Insulation for sound and to regulate the temperature. My set up is in the Northern climate, in my garage. I insulated the garage door and with a small electric space heater can get to a reasonable temperature. Not a balmy 70, but warm enough to play when it’s in the 20s.

I have been getting quotes on the same thing - I am also leaning Uneekor only because the GC3 would be a pain to move back and forth (I am lefty) when friends come over. The cost of building the shed is coming out really pricey when you consider the size, needing heat/AC etc.

I am starting my garage reno and live in MA. I will be insulating as well

if in a shed why not use woodstove... Sm. ones can be found pretty cheap used... Its not in your house so does not have to provide heat and décor... just heat. 

looking to do a shed setup myself. Would be renovating my current 24X12 shed. Have a jotul 602 waiting to be placed into action...

If you have the space, I would personally go a bit wider so you have ample space for face on camera.

 

If I had the space I would do a 20x20 steel prefab, insulate it, add a ductless mini split for heat/AC. If you are doing single slope for aesthetics that is cool, but you don't need all that extra height if you are doing a camera based LM, as you only really need 8ft or less to the screen.

I live in Rhode Island, so planning on insulating everything and Am thinking of doing a mini split for heat.

Yeah it’s definitly going to be pricey. I’m pretty confident in doing just about everything myself with some buddies. What is holding you up the most?

Thanks @maxcov922any help is appreciated. I am in Reading so kind of far. Got almost 1/3 of the garage roof off. I am comfortable with the process I have lined up and have done kitchen and interior home reno, but not so much of this.

 

The garage is old found a newspaper stuffed in the rafters from Friday, November 13th, 1936. The roof has about 4 layers of shingles. 

 

I plan on extending the walls from 6 feet to 9 feet and then adding a new roof and finishing off the interior.

 

I will be more than happy to reciprocate.

 

I am in Reading so kind of far from RI

Ohh wow, sounds like quite the project. 4 layers on the roof? I’ve never heard of that many before.

roof is totally off, so many shingles, nails and rotted wood

I have an old detached garage in my backyard, built in 1925. I was going to fix it up to put a sim in it but the issue I have is that the concrete slab tiles are extremely uneven and I don't know how to go about it without doing a major renovation on it. I'll have to post photos but good luck on yours. I'll be following.

@IPlay4Keepsmy floor is uneven in spots as well. I am going to grind or chip out the high points and then ensure it is really clean and either poor some self leveling concrete or regular concrete. That will be determined by how much needs to be filled in
