Srixon Z Star XV

The XV is starting to grow on me.  Shot 70 at MIle Square which is considered an easy course but none the less, shooting under par is exceptional for me.  This is the second time this year that I've gone sub 72.  The ball is as long as any other tour ball out there.  It's very low spin though with irons and I find that holding greens is a challenge so I have allow for some roll out.  Feels very firm like the CSX LS and left dash, but I'm used to it and rather prefer it.

Have you tried the diamond? Just as long, a little softer feeling, and spins back some on the greens.

I have but only a sleeve.  Funny you ask because I got in on the BOGO SALE and Dick's didn't have enough Diamond in stock for me to get 3 boxes so I went with the XV instead knowing what to expect.  I will revisit the Diamond at some point in the near future though.  Thanks for the suggestion.

Yep, the Diamond seems perfect for you.  Very similar feel -- though a touch softer in the short game -- but its whole selling point is more iron spin into greens.

Your sig says that the MTB-X is one of your gamer balls.  Does the MTB-X or Diamond spin more with irons?  Reason I ask is that I find the MTB-X to spin too much with the mid-short irons.  I'm looking for something to spin right in between the left dash/XV and MTB-X.

I would say the Diamond spins a bit more. The Snell usually bites on the green and backs up a bit, and I've hit some with the Diamond that zipped back twice as far. That was my first round with them, and now that I know that they do that, I didn't try and compress the ball as much with the wedges and it's more controllable. Sounds like the ProV1 Left Dash might be one for you to try also? That ball has the least amount of spin of all the balls that I play.

Left dash is one of my gamers.  It's like the XV in terms of spin but launches a little higher overall.  I don't mind high launch, but I do mind excess spin.

I was gifted a few ProV!'s during a recent quick fitting, and it's been awhile since I've played the regular V1. I'm usually a left dash/V1X guy, but was really surprised how well I got along with the regular ball. I hit probably one of my craziest drives of the year with it, about a 295 yard low screamer into about a 15 mph headwind. My stepson bombs pretty well, and his tee shot with a V1X went about 260. Darnest drive of the year, and made me think about getting some regular V1's sometime. I'm kind of waiting to see if they make a new version with some attributes of the left dot added in.

My cousin gifted me a box of ProV1 last year.  Didn't care for it all.  Iron distances were half a club short and inconsistent.  The only positive is that it comes off lower with a lower apex so it's good on windy days with driver.
