How To Clean Irons

Well I've done a search on this topic and for the most part people say they use a wet rag after each shot to wipe down there irons. I generally do the same, but what about picking up a used set of irons and there's some durt on them or some rust or a stain? How would you clean the irons now to make them look new again? Can you clean or polish out rust or stains in your irons? The reason I ask is cause I just picked up an extra set of Titleist 762s for about $200 that were claimed to be mint but I just noticed in one of the pictures it seems that he just didn't clean the clubs after his last round with them or that they are possibly stained? Before I actually send the money I want to make sure that I can get them back into the new look because the only thing wrong is the discoloration. I'll attach the picture that I got after I got them. Let me know what I can do to them, if I can do anything to them, to clean them up and make them look nice again. Thanks.

Since I buy and sell a lot of irons, I usually scrub my clubs down with one of those green 3m pads before I sell them. If there are any stains on the face I use a little FLITZ metal polish to clean them up. I'm sure you can use the same ideas on the set.

I give 'em a good bath in a bucket with dishwashing detergent, and a good bristle brush. Then.....I take 'em to my local clubmaker for a good buffing. This typically makes even grungy old irons look great!

Bump for the Flitz paste. It does wonders on any type of metal including golf clubs.

For rust and stains I use some WD40 and a nylon brush then wipe them down. Works great and also prevents rust from forming in the future with regular use.

My husband has used his Dremel on some clubs he got from Play It Again Sports and it worked wonders.

The absolute best way to clean clubs (suggestion courtesy of my wife) is this:

 

 

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. It doesn't hurt clubs at all and works 10x better than 'the club tub' or whatever.

I have about 13 pairs of jordans, and the Mr clean magic eraser works wonders on them too! :)
