Price increase on Maxfli Tour & Tour X

Just noticed that within the last few days that Golf Galaxy/Dicks Sporting Goods has raised the prices on a box of Maxfli Tour and Tour X balls from $35/dozen to $40/dozen. Thankfully you can still get the deal for two boxes at $60 and 4 boxes for $105 with the GG/DSG "limited time sale" (which seems to almost always be available, thus not "limited time"). Still, kind of a bummer to see the price bump.

If they did not change their volume pricing I would assume its a tactic to move product.  Almost forces you to buy in bulk.  Maybe they are trying to clear out stock faster for a newer version?

Maybe they're testing the water, so to speak, by raising the individual price just to see if anyone bites, then raise the bulk price later. Just like everything else the price will eventually increase.

Yeah, I just got 2 Tour CG's for 60$ at my local DSG this past Sunday.  They put up a little bit of a fight though, I had to present the website showing the limited time offer.  So, the regular pricing has indeed changed, up $5 per dozen.  They want to sell 2 for $70 like I mentioned in the other Maxfli thread.  As long as they have that limited time offer in red on the website, you can get it online or in person, but I have the feeling that may change soon.  One dozen for $40/new normal is still pretty good, but not on a '21 model - that part I don't get!

Somehow, the pricing seems to be different in different parts of the country.  My DSG and GG are both the same price here in Central North Carolina.  The pricing between DSG and GG should be exactly the same, same company and will price match so not saying it isn't true, but it is truly a mystery!  (The pricing above)

... Convenient for me as they are close together but I always go to GG over Dicks for anything golf. Dicks only accepts 2 Rewards certificate at a time and if I have 5 saved up, GG takes all of them. Pricing seems to be off quite often at Dicks and it takes a manager to straighten it out. GG is usually accurate with pricing. Granted GG only has to deal with golf equipment and accessories while Dicks has a huge store but still ...

I just went to Golf Galaxy today and stopped by the balls, my store now says 2/$55.  The full price is $39.99.  But they don't have any 4 pacs for $104 left (I think I got the last box a week ago).

Just ordered the 4-dozen package @ $105 with free two day shipping.    I really didn't need the additional golf balls but in 2-3 years time I would be mad if I was paying $40 a dozen instead of $26.  I knew this was going to happen.  The Maxfli golf balls were grossly underrated, but it seems their good reviews are catching on.

If I typically play a TP5x instead of a TP5, should I go Maxfli Tour X?

 

thinking of trying Maxfli tour for cold weather (45-55 F or so)

 

I guess if I can get on with the firmer feel of the higher compression Tour X then I should be ok

 

will Maxfli Tour X spin more off irons and short game than the TP5x?

... So many factors involved because we all are different. Swing speed, AOA and of course personal preference. But the TP5x was my favorite ball before finding the Maxfli Tours. I tried the Tour X, but it was shorter off the tee for me and I can't afford to give up any yardage. The Tour is not soft but not quite as firm as the TP5x. The compression for the Tour is 85, the TP5x is 91 and the Tour X is 98 so the TP5x is right in the middle. I prefer the Tour over the TP5x by just a little in every way other than playing in the wind where the lower spinning TP5x performs a little better for me.

And it looks like the price of the 48-pack has now bumped up as well, at least online. Web site shows the box of 4-dozen at $119.98 with the "regular" price at $159.99, though I don't think I've ever seen these at any price other than the "sale" price.

Any info on the Tour S?

 

I would like to change from Q Star to either Tour or Tour S.

 

Seem compression between the Maxfli Tour S vs the Tour are 67 vs 90 but cannot seem to find any testing on the Tour S. 

 

swing speed about the 90 mark.
