Difference between JT’s Scotty and Studio Stainless 350g Newport 2?

Saw that Justin Thomas switched to his old Scotty Newport 2. I thought the head shape looked familiar. This from golfWRX Instagram:

 

 

Other pictures show that it’s a 350g head. Can someone explain what the difference is between that putter and an OTR Studio Stainless 350g Newport 2 other than stamps and maybe a different milling pattern?

I believe SSS is suppose to be a ‘better’ grade of stainless steel than the stainless steel used for retail scottys. Similarly to GSS (german stainless steel), it's used in tour-only/circle-t putters

I think you’ve covered the main differences. Add price tag differences to your list and that’s pretty much it.

No, the SSS material is the exact same in JT’s and a Studio Stainless.

Edit/Correction - After some more digging I guess the ‘SSS’ stamped on Scotty’s simply means ‘stainless steel’ but with an extra ‘S’ for some odd reason. So i was wrong, it is indeed the same material

 

I assumed the extra ‘S’ was for ‘surgical’ like the article shown in the pic suggests, but I guess not

He originally just stamped the putters “SS”. People were stamping a G on them and passing them off as GSS putters. The extra S was added to stop this.

The difference is in the hand stamps and that’s about it. 
 

The 350g studio stainless has always been probably the favorite OTR putter among Scotty nerds. It’s thicker behind the face to get weight up to 350g and that gives it a soft and solid feel you wouldn’t expect from 303. It’s just about perfect.
