Columbus, OH - Intermediate Golf

Moving to Columbus for work where I know virtually nobody.  Interested in a walkable private club.  I’d like to live closer to the city (while still not being far from golf course).  I think Scioto is out of my price range but am interested in Brookside.  
 

Is it walkable?

Anybody know anything about the length of the waitlist?

Waiting to hear back from the membership folks but do any of you all have a suggestion for somewhere else?

 

Requirements:

- Can’t just be a golf club (wife)

- Walkable course

- Waitlist won’t be an eternity

- Reasonable initiation?? Maybe under $25k for intermediate member (I’m 31 and my wife is 29)

Brookside is very walkable, lots of walkers at all times. Course just underwent a renovation 2 years ago that definitely improved the course. As far as other things, new pub a couple years ago, nice big outdoor dining patio, fitness center, good sized pool, tennis, pickleball and platform tennis courts. Heated hitting building for the winter months. I believe the waitlist is in the neighborhood of 50, so decently large. Not sure on the initiation but think it should be under your number. Any other questions just ask. Yes Kinsale is a nice facility but it's 20+ minutes further from downtown

Most of the clubs are on the northwest to northeast sides of the city.  Not all but many.

 

You mention wanting to live closer to the city so depending on where that means.   Columbus Country Club could be an option.

 

 

if you haven’t been asked to join Scioto then regardless of initiation, etc. that won’t be an option.
