Philadelphia area country clubs

I’ve read some of the past forums, but any updates on the best clubs in the area to join? Wife and I are new to the area in Malvern and I don’t mind driving to a place I’ll be spending a lot of time. Don’t see much mentioned about Whitford - how is it? Chester valley? White manor update? Concord? Waynesborough? How are the social scenes for all the clubs in the area as we’re in our early 30s and trying to meet some people, but golf is the main focus. Are the tee sheets completely packed all year round? Any insight on initiation fees? Any advice would be great!

I do not live in the area but had a chance to play Chester Valley about 6-7 years ago. Awesome place. The golf course was great and the clubhouse was nice as well. 

Membership felt very down to earth. I would check them out.

Whitford is very close to my office and although I haven’t played it, it looks outstanding when driving by.

 

Played Radley Run a few times last year and found that to be a solid track. Seems to be a little more under the radar then some of the ones you mentioned. Nice facilities and they were doing some upgrades when I played.

Whitford is a nice clubhouse and locker room, unsure about the social aspect. Golf course is a C+ to a B...

 

Radley is a better course and conditions IMO. Greens run fast there.

 

If golf is more important than social - Applebrook or White Manor.

 

Waynesboro is probably a good blend of everything based on what you are saying.

 

Personally I think Concord is too blah to consider... unless you have friends there.
