Revision count as a post?

Hello, I received a violation for having opened two classified listings within 24 hours. I believe I did not violate policy. I edited a previous classified post from weeks ago. Then opened a new one today.  Does editing an existing post count as a new post?  Please explain, thanks.

Those are two separate rules. I'm guessing your violation is for having more than 1 ad open at a time...

 

• Members are allowed ONE open listing with a maximum of 10 items. 
• Members are entitled to only one listing per 24 hour period. Members must wait 24 hours from the time they close one ad before they are allowed to open another one. Violations will be deleted without warning.

A few thoughts.  
 

does a simple mistake warrant taking down the post?  Why can’t a mod remind the user to close their old post?  I can see if they refuse to, then a suspension warranted.

 

Is a 30 day posting suspension fair for a honest oversight?  Seems the punishment is excessive.

 

the site is quick to take a posting fee but not very helpful in reminding users of the rules.  Believe it or not golfwrx policies aren’t the standard on the internet.  Perhaps post the rules on the same page as the fee.  Maybe a check box where the user acknowledges and agrees to the terms.

You were warned for a 30 days relist violation and having 2 open ads. You were not suspended. You would not be able to post now if you were suspended. 

 

We're not here to remind you of the rules nor be your ad editor. You're responsible for understanding the rules prior to posting an ad. The BST rules are located at the top of the Classifieds forum. You may want to read them prior to posting any further ads.

The BST rules are posted everywhere and cited when you purchase the ad.  Perhaps you didn't scroll down or read the entire page?

The site didn't take your money, you purchased the right to post an ad per the posted rules.

 

Perhaps you should use other sites like ebay or alternative sites that are not as strict with the rules.  If one can't follow the rules or comprehend them, then the ability to follow through on transactions should be in suspect too.

 

The ad above is still open.  

 

 

This forum has explicit step by step instructions pinned in this forum and if it was followed, one would see which ad they have open.

 

There is no hand holding in the classifieds, you either follow the rules or tread at your own danger.

Why not just read and follow them like an adult.
