Somebody tell me why Golf Galaxy won't sell sleeves of Maxfli balls but only Bridgestone?

I would be willing to try sleeve of Maxfli Tour golf balls but I'm forced to buy an entire box. The Golf Galaxy near me in Orlando sells only sleeves of Bridgestone balls. Why can't they sell sleeves of their own golf balls? What is that all about??

It forces you to buy a 1-2 dozen. I think the B'stone sleeves are way over priced. They make money on that sleeve and even more if you come back for a high priced dozen.

I get that but it seems it would make business sense to promote their own brand by having an easy way to try their offerings.  I would expect they have a much higher profit margin for Maxfli than Bridgestone.  Maybe it's just me. I don't really lose a lot of golf balls so buying a dozen balls lasts me a long time.

I hear you. I wish more retailers will have a larger selection of sleeves. It would make it easier to zero in on the right ball. Maxfli has three models. It would be nice to sample all three with sleeves.

Maxfli really should have sleeves at this point.  It’s a house ball though so cost(packaging) etc probably plays into it somehow. I suspect as the ball is starting to be marketed more and more we’ll see some sleeves become available.

Most LGS don't buy balls by the pallet, they buy them by the case, making margins per box minimal, and lost leader advertisements.  In any case, most people don't go to their LGS to buy sleeves, they buy boxes.  Green grass locations are where sleeves are common.

Yes but when I lived in the Atlanta area PGA tour superstores sold every brand by the sleeve.  Now here in The Villages (yes I'm 65!) I can only buy very overpriced sleeves at our country club pro shops. But the good news is a PGA Tour superstore is coming to town soon so I'll be able to try different balls at just a slightly more expensive cost than box price. Of course that doesn't solve the problem of trying the MaxFli balls.  😞

I'm surprised Dicks or Golf Galaxy can't run a promotion where you can create a customized box to make your own dozen to sample.  Sort of like how beer stores have a build your own 6 pack where you grab a folding cardboard container and a section of individual beers and sell the 6 pack for a flat rate regardless of beer purchased.  Could do something like $24.99 for an all ionomer pack and $44.99 for an all urethane pack.  Although I'm sure they would have to get the ball manufacturers on board for something like that.

Here in the UK you can generally only buy single sleeves at your club pro shop. Your retail stores generally only sell golf balls by the dozen, but these stores are usually cheaper.

I'm also surprised that GG or DSG can't break open a box and price sleeves to sell individually.  They just need SKUs.

I've been to PGA and have seen them do exactly this so I can't imagine it's all too difficult.  Especially for a house brand product.  Worst case if they don't sell they don't need to worry about the product not selling as they wouldn't need to open boxes unnecessarily.
