Best Hoodie for golf

I'm sure Greyson, Holderness & Bourne and Peter Millar are all great but it sure is hard to justify $120++ over the Costco Spyder Performance Hoodie for @ $15.  Comfortable stretch material, kinda like a heavy tee & a kangaroo pocket. The only thing I mildly don't like is it hangs just a little too long on the body (maybe 3 inches too long), otherwise it's great.

I’ll put a plug in for the Redvanly hoodies. Came across them in a local golf shop and was really impressed with the materials. They’re a polyester/spandex blend so more technical and prob not as warm as others but I tend to run warm so it’s a great layering piece for me. Only nitpick for me is some of the models have the Redvanly logo on the front chest. I prefer a clean chest but YMMV.

Also came across Flyte Golf in the Banff pro shop.

Very impressed with this brand.

Everyone talking about the fit, comfort, material etc.  which is all good, but no comments about the “hood”.  
Which seems extraneous to me.  
Does it actually serve a purpose? Or just trendy….

I’m a savage and on cold mornings I pull the hood up over my hat to keep my ears warm 🥶. I’m frisky desert mornings, I’m a huge fan of the Vuori ponto half zip, and I’ll have a puffer vest over it. Lightweight, warm, unrestrictive (I’m also a sleeveless rain jacket heathen).

Costco clothes in general just usually don't work out for me.  I've learned that lesson.  Looks like such a deal but if i never wear it,  there is no value.  Often it is the cut,  I don't know who they make that stuff for. I know there are lots of heavyweight folks around but when all that is on the table is XL and XXL after the average costco shoppers (fat) have taken all the M and L, there might be a problem.

I ended up buying 3 of the PM Lava Wash Hoodies from my Club this year. They are more of a soft aged cotton feel if I had to explain it. I just love how light and comfortable they are and they’re also great for off the course casual wear. Been living in them this winter.

How is sizing. The only thing I do not like about PM is their sizing between polos and outerwear.  
 

I wear an XL is all their standard fit polos.  But their outwear runs small in XXL. It fits, but barely.

Ive been contemplating the Lava Wash for a bit now. Are they any warm ??? Any comparison with other hoodies ?

 

i usually wear some sort of baselayer with a hoodie, and am good for mid 40s if it isnt too windy..

I wear medium in polos and large in the hoodie. Perfect match. Outerwear definitely runs smaller.

They are quite light but they are fleece lined on the inside. I’ve worn them with just a polo under in the mid to upper 40’s while playing and been just fine. To me they’re worth the investment for just how comfortable they are on and off the course.
