CP2 wrap grips question

Has anyone who has experience playing cp2 grips, noticed that the back line decals on the grip twist and get crooked? 
I know I’m installing the grips properly as I’ve done grips for 20 years. I googled this and it seems some people have had this issue before but can’t find a lot of info on it. 
 

Is this just how this grip is bc it’s a soft rubber material or is it a sign the club is twisting in my swing?

The other thing is that the grips I am using on my driver and woods are pulls that were on a couple other clubs of mine. 
I did I have brand new ones last year on my irons and I believe it did the same thing. Not 100% sure tho.

I haven’t used those in a while, but I can recall that happening to me also.  At the end of the day, one of the key requirements of a golf grip is to create friction between the grip and glove/hand.  It’s unavoidable that the friction is going to pull on any grip’s material, so it’s not a stretch to imagine that this probably happens to all grips to some degree (may be more pronounced with softer grips.). 

 

With that being said, I can think of other reasons why this may have happened to me.  Here are some examples.  

 

I am lazy with grip tape, which may result in small sections of the shaft

without adequate coverage.  There have also been times in which I wasn’t patient with the solvent and took swings before proper drying.  Some brands of

tape are better than others, so the adhesion can vary.  The temperature in my garage at the time of installation also seems to have an impact on how adhesive the tape ends up being (if not just my imagination)

Never happened when I was using these, not saying it couldn't. I use golfworks tape with 2 wraps so it might build it up a bit more to grip to hold in place. 

 

I'd agree with the above that the softer the grip the more prone to torque twisting it would be.

I have CP2 midsize grips on a set of Callaway irons that I’ve played extensively in the last couple years, never noticed any twisting, but it’s possible I suppose. The clubs came to me with them installed, and I had my hybrids gripped at the golf shop to match at the time. I liked the feel, but the more I work on my game, the more I came to like a thinner and more firm feeling grip, so I switched to something different when I switched to Titleist irons earlier this summer. I’ll have to pull out my Callaway irons and take a look at them and see…

No problem at all. I think you are gripping the club too firm.  Harvey Penick says to hold the club like you have a live bird in your hands.

You mentioned using pulled grips, often times pulled grips have some pieces of the old tape still inside the grip, that could affect how well it attaches when reinstalled. As others suggested maybe installed a layer or two of tape to build it up a bit for a snugger fit.

Played CP2s for several years. Never had this issue.

If you cut open a CP2 grip you’ll  see a different material inside the last 2” at the butt end.  I think it’s a vibration dampening feature.  
Now using air only they will definitely twist even with a new grip.  So that 2” I would guess is not as “sticky” as the rubber.  
Even with tape I can see how they might slip. Especially if there’s remnants of previous tape in there.  Try a couple extra wraps 2” at the butt end. That might help. 
Cleaning out the old tape is a must. It’s always best to do that right after grip removal while the tape is soft. See link to what I use.   I’ve always used a solvent injector to save old grips.  I would think that long probe tool that some use to remove grips would have a propensity to tear off pieces of the tape, and stretch the grip.
