Hogan Sabers at Goodwill

Goodwill was good to me this morning! I found a set of Ben Hogan Sabers 3-Equalizer but missing the 4 iron. They have regular flex True Temper Pro Fit shafts and leather wrap grips. They are a little rough and I have them soaking in vinegar to try to remove some rust but I am so excited to have them.

It’s just shocking how modern those look right down to the script. If Callaway reproduced this Hogan would live again strong as ever I’m betting.

This place is unreal if you want as new mint classic heads built on a modern chassis (shafts).   This I would find so much more fun than just another mass produced overpriced new set of blah blah blah….

Very interesting.  Nice to see someone working with the old classics.  Obviously there is some mainstream market for such things if the guy is in business doing it.  Thanks for posting the link.

It is nice to see.  Golf needs this, it’s way past time to lighten up on the never ending new equipment assault.  This stuff looks incredibly fun which to me is what golf needs more of.  The is no question I’ll be giving them $$$.  I’ve actually never seen so many highly desirable top end rare iron sets.  I love a thrift score but I never find mint sets. And certainly not with new performance shafts, grips, no bag chatter. None of these are missing any front teeth on the leading edge! Sport cars, hot rods and muscle cars come to mind.

does anyone know the step pattern on a Hogan putter Apex shaft?

mine has a few 1 1/4" steps then it goes to 2"
