Anyone move from 2021 P790 to 2023 T200

I’m thinking of moving to a new set of irons for next year and the new T200s definitely have my eye.  If anyone has made the switch, what are your thoughts and experiences?  Any increase in launch and spin?

Never played TM P790, but their design suggests they would hit the ball reasonably high.  I have T200 17' 2i in the bag, and T200 22' 4i which is part of the T100S set of strong irons.    

 

Both T200 irons hit the ball higher than my 718 T-MB 2i or T100 4 iron.  T200 intentionally are more forgiving and more difficult to manipulate the flight lower, nice clubs though.

Went from 2021 P790 I bought off eBay to a fitted set of T200 5,6 irons and T150 7-PW. Ended up being fitted for a heavier shaft, but overall really happy with the switch. Dispersion of T150s is tighter and doesn't seem any less forgiving

I went from 2021 P790 to 2023 T200 fitted.

 

I dont necessarily regret the switch, but the 790 was a damn good club for me.  Only dislike was the fatter topline.  Equally as forgiving, similar launch and spin but the t200 are about a half club longer for me.

I’m also considering making the move from the ‘21 P790’s to the new T200’s. I had a Titleist fitting and the launch and spin numbers were pretty comparable but the T200’s were about half a club longer for me as well. My main reason for switching is I don’t like the look of the P790 PW and feel like I have gapping issues with that and my 9 iron. I’m torn between the T200 and T150. Forgiveness felt about the same but the T200 was about a club longer for me. Not sure I can give up that kind of distance.

For you guys saying you picked up distance, was it a shaft change or do you attribute it to the head itself?

Hard to say for me as I’m playing DG 105 stiff in the P790’s and that shaft was not on the fitting cart. I did get fairly consistent distances with the T200’s in most shafts I tested. PX LZ 6.0, AMT black etc. I wouldn’t make the move for the modest distance gains but I liked the T200’s look at address and feel better than my 790’s.

Not exactly on point for the op…

 

After using the 2022 790’s for a season, I bought a set of 2023. MC. I’m in love with the P-7. I’ll figure out the 6++ but…

 

When I hit the MC 7 next to the 7 790, holy smokes. The MC feels like a sharp knife. The 790 feels more like a mallet.
