I have had UPS do that a few times. Itll be like 45 minutes at a local  place and they just hold it for some reason until the next day.

In putter forum there’s a fairly extensive one of people talking about them after receiving. I have mine and we’re covered in snow here but have rolled on mat at home and it’s nice. Coming from DJ spider that has been firmly in bag for 5 years. Not sure I will stay with this as I get along with slant neck but it is a good looking and feeling putter.

Is it ping level soft? Or is it still quite clicky?

 

had a myspider before I got my hands on a prime Tyne pld. Absolutely loved my myspider, just needed something with a softer face.

It’s more firm that regular spider inserts - so I would not say it’s a soft feeling putter.

I currently game a Prime Tyne 4 PLD, is it close to that?

If it’s close to that degree of softness I would give it a shot since I do really like the spider mallet profile, just wanted something milled.

here are the weights i ordered when I experimented.

fit good you just have to use the screw that comes with your putter, the aftermarket one is too long.

they sell from 2g+

 

 

stock weights in mine are 11g

Experiment has concluded. Will not make the bag unfortunately. Sucks cuz it’s honestly one of the coolest putters I’ve ever had. Couldn’t find any magic with it, was 3 putt city for a few rounds with it. Seems to pop off the face really quick which doesn’t help you on fast hilly greens. Also never really owned a plumbers neck mallet before so honestly was lil weird to look down at, compared to my slant neck I’ve had for a while. I think it’s a sick putter. Just not for me. 
 

have a MH jailbird coming in to test. Hopefully that one works out

That stinks but at least you know.  I’m trying to figure out what to do myself. I have two JR putters, two Jailbirds, and now this spider (which I love).  I need to extend both JR putters and my spider which will be my wintertime experiment.  My head is exploding right now since I really like all of them including my current gamer Tank putter.

I was in the same boat. Had a JR which was fun to use for a bit, tested out a jailbird a while back. But had so much loft, hoping i can Bend it a little bit so i don’t have to forward press or play it back in my stance

You’ll like the MH Jailbird, it feels great!  I have a feeling my spider makes the bag once I extend it and adjust the weighting.  I love the feel so much🥰

These are holding there prices far better than jailbird from second hand sellers.  I suspect TM will have another release.

Thats because JBs were not really limited.  They made enough to support every single order which was smart.  I was told there would not be anymore milled spiders anytime soon when I asked about a CB style release.  
 

I was told all returned milled spiders would be listed again on their website for purchase but again, very limited quantities.

We shall see.  If these are continue to sell for a couple hundred bucks over retail, I suspect they will release more.  Companies don’t leave money on the table 🙂

JB had a craze that I don’t think this model would support.  Maybe if a tour player puts one in play and starts running the tables we would see another batch.

If people are still paying over retail for the tm spider proto x, tm will release another batch to maximize their sales and profit.  Let’s revisit this in a couple months.  
 

spider is one of the most popular and best selling putters…….ever.  Some people don’t like inserts which prevented spider from becoming an option for them.   Now there is a milled version that opens that door.  Word spread it’s good. 
 

jailbird is a flash in the pan.  It was niche product that didn’t take off 10 years ago.  The reasons they sell for less than retail now is many people bought to flip, and many people found that a long heavy counterbalanced putter does zero to help them on slow soft greens.
