TM Spider X Hydro Blast (2021) vs Spider Tour X (2023)

Tried out the Spider Tour X (2023 model) and absolutely loved it. However, I noticed that the Spider X Hydro Blast (2021) is on sale for $100 less than the update model for this year. I understand that the weights have moved from the outside rear of the putter to underneath and further forward. I am not able to find a Hydro Blast to test out, but am wondering if there is any difference in feel between the two, for those of you that may have been able to try both. Thanks in advance!

I didn't have the Hydro Blast (played with it a bit though), but i did have a Copper X, and most recently a Navy X SB. Traded it in for a Tour Z which I now have and really, really like, but I did roll the Tour X for a bit. I think the prior models are a bit more clickier and thus a slightly harder feel. All that is subjective but I do feel that the current Tour models are a step up from the ones before AND a return to form. I never got into the GT or the GTX, the face or the styling.

 

Lastly, I'm not sure if true but the head of the Tour X feel slightly larger IMO. If you love it, get it!

Appreciate the reply, all great thoughts. It’s funny, this morning I was at my local golf shop trying out the Tour X before pulling the trigger on a custom order (not a SuperStroke fan). Ended up trying the new Odyssey Ai-ONE Rossie and couldn’t believe it. Haven’t been a big Rossie fan, ever, but on 20-30 foot putts I was consistently in the hole or within 1 foot of it with tight dispersion. The Tour X wasn’t doing that. Wild the new Ai-ONE putters (non milled) are at such a competitive price point. Have more thinking to do, as always.

Nice! Ai-ONE was also something I was looking at but I had the opposite of your results. Performance-wise, not for me but they are gorgeous putters though.

I have a Hydroblast and a Tour X both in the slant neck model, for me the Tour X feels softer & less clicky than the hydroblast. It might be due to the hybrar echo damper. I prefer the feeling & sound of the Tour X, they both put a great roll on the ball. I was testing with a TP5.

The new Tour X has the damper, making it feel slightly more soft than the outgoing (possibly?) Hydroblast X. I had used the Hydroblast a few times and couldn't quite get over the feel, but I really enjoy it with this model. I don't want to get rid of the one I have. It's a toss-up between the Tour X and my 9.5.

I tested the tour x today and really liked it.  Have not really looked into spiders in the past, just not usually my thing.  But the more I’m looking into forgiveness, it’s hard to deny.  So easy to line up as well.
