Do gap wedges exist for the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal Pros?

I have Mizuno 923 Hot Metal Pros (4-PW) and was looking for a gap wedge.

Originally I was going to go with the titleist SM9 48 degree but realized I could just buy the 923 Hot metal pro 48 degree GW.

Some people are saying that the Hot metal pros do not have a GW specific to the set and instead uses the Hot Metal design. Can anyone confirm?

If it is indeed just the HM instead of HMP for the gap wedge, do you guys have any recommendations for gap wedge models that would fit well with the Hot metal pro iron set?

Mizuno makes the GW for either the 923 HM or HMP. It’s designed for either set. The loft, lie, and offset work with either set.
But, they didn’t make a specific HMP GW.
(There’s not much difference between the HM and HMP).

Mizuno’s  website has info:

https://mizunogolf.com/us/golf-clubs/jpx923-series/jpx923-hot-metals/

I have the HMPs and the GW is fine. It’s about the same size and shape as the HMP PW. See photos. (GW on left in top line photo).
But if you don’t like the 923 GW, anything you like with the correct loft should be fine. I went with the 923 GW because the HMP lofts are strong and I wanted to stay with the same shaft and general head shape in the GW compared to the rest of the set.
Hopes this helps.

The picture are the hot metal gap wedges used for both HM and HMP. The HM HL actually has its own gap wedge that matches the set.

The HM gap wedge is excellent and is what I’d recommend regardless. They’re more of a blade design and just perform. Feel is amazing as well. Get a speciality wedge for your sand wedge.

There is no matching GW for the HMP. You’ll have to settle for the trifecta that is designed to match the HM.

Good info…was just pondering this very thing, and completely missed the GW common to both the HM’s and HMP’s.  As I’m more interested in the HMP’s I thought I would have to go with something outside the product line in the GW slot.

Probably not doing anything until Spring, however, so I’ll have to keep my eyes open if the new iMizuno irons launch by then.

The 923 Forged are pretty forgiving and you could always combo with the HMP.  Maybe 8 to GW in the forged and 5-7 in the HMP.

How do you like that compared to a vokey wedge 48 wedge?

I'm deciding between the HM gap wedge vs the SM9 vokey 48 wedge but have no idea which way to go.

I was leaning HM gap wedge if it has more forgiveness

Well considering Mizuno designed them to flow into the HM irons I’d say they’re pretty decent and forgiving. The sole more matches the set than a Vokey. I wouldn’t overthink it. It’s a great wedge.

The HM 923 GW is a good wedge. I mostly use it for is full swing shots. It’s also easy to hit low runners close on a missed, open green with a back pin or under a tree, etc.  Sigh, my game sometimes calls for creativity.

Because I mostly use the GW for full shots I went with the HM 923 GW instead of an OEM wedge because I liked the head shape and it allowed me to keep the same shaft throughout the irons. It’s a continuity thing. It flows well for me.
I don’t currently play Vokeys but I’ve played them in the past. I’m not sure of the difference as far as forgiveness between the Vokey and HM. I think the Vokey would be less forgiving based on the head shape and sole?  But I don’t think Vokeys are hard to hit.
The HM 923 GW is pretty easy to hit. It’s a good club.
