AP2 716s... to T150s?

I had T200s with PX LZ 5.5s and hated them. So late last season went back to my AP2 716s with KBS Tour R+ shafts. Lost some yards as expected because of the weaker lofts but played and felt better. My index runs between 5-6.

Now I am tempted to try T150s... Is it worth it? (I know the T150s are 2 stronger so I should pick up a few yards in theory).

I couldn't get along with the T200 either. The sole was too fat for my angle of attack. I hit a buddies 2023 T100 and they were really good. I'm leaning toward the T150 for your same reason (stronger lofts), and they fit my eye better.

I cannot decide if I should try a T200 4-iron in the set though.

My friend went from 718 AP2 to T150 in the same shafts, hes up almost a full club. I am also in the T150 and we share similar feelings about how powerful the impact feels in comparison to his previous AP2.

I can't fathom why anyone has issues with 2022 T200 irons, especially 2023 series, but we're all different. Too many people get hood winked into thinking having stronger lofts, he will hit irons further when it might not be the case. Depending on user skill level, stronger lofts can make delivering a proper face angle more problematic at impact.

I have a 2022 T200 2i with a 90g shaft, and the series 4i with a 95g shaft, and two 2023 T200, 2 irons, with different 90g shafts, and hit the bejesus out of all of them. T200 2 iron is more of a DI, intentionally has minimal bounce, designed for sweeping, so it shouldn't be problematic. The 2022 T200 4i has similar characteristics. Being someone who sweeps/scrapes and partial to narrow soles, low bounce, no camber and sharp leading edges on my irons, they are still long for me.

Recent comparison, I hit the T200 22' 4i with MMT 95s shaft 5–8 yards further, to 198yd, vs my T100 23' 4i with MMT 85g shaft at 185-190yds, both were straight, and I am over 70. If I stay down on the ball a fraction longer, trajectory comes down a tad and it's even long.

Back at the end of 2022 I purchased a set of 2022 T100s irons (same as T150). At times, I gained a few yards, but spin, trajectory and dispersion were not to my liking, thus put in storage after 8 months of use.

In the end, I just prefer more traditional lofted irons. My golf is all about precision ball striking, minimal dispersion, and less about hitting the ball as far I can. T100's messily 1" strong is enough to make me a happy camper. One man's experience.
