Srixon Z Star Diamond

Anyone out there playing this ball? From the ball test on MGS it ranks very high on most of the metrics. I am currently playing the V1x and love it, but I want to get a higher trajectory than I do now. I was hoping for some opinions on greenside performance.

Played it for half of last season. Definitely not higher trajectory than PRO V1x. Really good spin greenside and softer feel than the Titleist. They will perform VERY similarly, just with that noticeable softer feel throughout the bag.

for me the Diamond is pretty much a ProV1X but with a slightly softer feel and maybe a little less green side spin, or maybe it's just my perception and it's the same...could use either ball and it won't change anything from how I approach any shot.

Ok thanks. I have not played yet with them. I have got in a couple of chipping sessions and they feel softer but are less spinny so far. I am a flyer style chipper, putting it up in the air and using a shorter roll out. Not a big deal I just have to adjust a little. So far I like the feel. I like the V1x too so it really coming down to how I hit it. Thanks again guys

I've been playing them for awhile and they are almost like a mix of the Pro V1 and Pro V1x. They seem to spin a little closer to the X though.

I play the V1x and Diamond interchangeably. I would agree with what @golf_junkie_85 said above; it feels softer, but I would also argue it has just as much if not more spin around the greens. I wish the V1x was a tad less clicky (aka softer) around the greens. The ball is good in the wind and maintains great shape and holds its line well with longer irons.

Height
Driver - I ill see more spin, 5 more feet of max height, and higher decent angle, but that means less roll out. I preferred height over overall distance/roll because my AoA is steep and for the life of me cannot get the preferred window of height off the tee without a spinny ball.
Mid Irons - More spin (300-400 RPMs) but the height of the V1x is about 4-5 feet higher with a higher decent angle. I've noticed the Diamond does not balloon as much for me because of it. And I cannot stand the trajectory of the ProV1, so I looked outside of Titleist.

It's a good ball, it is a moderate to high spinning relatively firm ball. I switched from the XV to the diamond last year for the slightly softer feel and higher spin.

 

If comparing to other companies it would be close to prov1x for feel and spin.

I’ve played ProV1X exclusively for 4 year and can play the diamond with out noticing any major change in performance on the course. Diamond feels softer and spins a tad bit more for me with every club. I find the ProV1x is more durable, but Both are great I prefer the feel of the Diamond.

It will help with long iron height due to spin, I haven’t noticed other issues, it’s in the same window the old xv’s flew in. Very good from 190 to the pin.

Latest version is Great tee to green but found it to be hotter off the putter than prov1x which made it a tough change. Just really hard to match line and speed which would go away after a while but wasn’t a fan of.

I used It for a while last season and really liked it but just couldn't get the proper feel with my spider tour putter for some reason

I love the Diamond. Great spin in mid to long irons for me. Feels nice around the greens with plenty of spin. I like it off the putter too.  I was actually gifted a box of prov1xs for Christmas but waiting for less wet conditions to compare.

I actually had the same experience going from the X to the diamond. Had an Odyssey White hot OG 7, I ended up switching to a milled face puttter Bettinardi after getting 9 dozen diamonds for Xmas on the out 2 get 1 free. 😂

Played diamond for most of last season. Fantastic all around ball and was longest for me off driver. I would probably still play it if they made it in divide or yellow.

I’ve played it for 2 years, last years model was a nice improvement. For me it’s the perfect flight off the driver. Iron flight is a bit higher than I would like but the spin is in the window I want. I love the ball from 100 in and it does everything I want with a wedge.

Until Srixon fixes their issues with "seams" I am out. I cannot believe that they have not addressed this issue for years now.

The Diamond is a little louder than the ZStar and a little softer sounding-feelingthan the ZStar XV.

I love the Diamond. Great tweener ball for me. Spins off the mid irons (which I need), a bit higher ball flight (which I need), and spins off the wedge.

What’s the issue with seams?

I dont have pics but you can find it on a thread here. My issues have been the seam starts showing up after 6 or so holes played. I have had balls split at the seam 3 x but those were after an 18 hole round. The balls will also not even come close to balancing as well. It is a shame because other than that they make a great ball.
