Anyone else a mizuno iron headcase?

Growing up in the 80s and 90s it was a right of passage to player status if you got a set of mizunos.  I still hold the mp line in high regard but they are blurring their lines too much lately between JPX and mp.  Although I did just buy a set of 245s so…🤷‍♂️

Mizuno undoubtedly makes some great equipment. 

 

But, I can't help but notice how rarely anyone comes out and sings the praises of this particular Mizuno gem...

But seriously, it was more enjoyable to hit yourself in the forehead with those suckers. Hitting balls with them was utterly excruciating. 🙂

I used these irons up until last season lol. They feel great on a flush shot.

I have about 10 sets of Mizuno irons, including a full set of MS-1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11 etc.  And a 1-PW set of MP14s, plus other stuff like MP30, MP59Ti and some T-Zoid pros.  

 

I just picked up what I thought was a single 225 demo 7-iron head, but I missed in the product description it came with "bonus" heads.  Turns out for $50 I got two 7-iron 225 heads, two 223 heads, two 221 heads, and a JPX921 Tour head.  I'm going to machine up some adapters (for the demo heads) that have a 2.5* offset so I can build up one set with a strong 225, standard 223, and weaker 221 playing at 27.5*, 32*, and 36.5*.  That will give me a nice spread with three clubs for a bulk of my Par 3 shots and approach shots.  These will be the first modern Mizunos I've hit.

I went to Ping i230. Quite a difference and it's good.

I played those irons for years..my first set of Mizunos. When flushed, they felt amazing.  Shot my even par round with them. When miss hit they were pretty punishing, but I really think they helped me become a better ball striker. They're still in my back up bag. 

 

Guess there's two in every crowd. 🤣
