Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro Questions ?

I'm going to buy the Rapsodo MLM 2 Pro & was wondering if anyone has used an alignment stand with it ?

If so how it worked out for you & was it worth the cost ?

Also, has anyone used one of the ball marking templates that you can use to apply the dot pattern that is needed to get accurate readings out of the MLM 2 Pro

I'm going to use the MLM 2 Pro outside hitting into a net

I haven’t used either (but will be ordering stickers or a template soon). As far as alignment goes, the MLM2 does well on its own. The cameras serve as great alignment tools. If you need something to level out the tripod, I can see one being useful.

I'm waiting on some stickers myself & plan on trying them out when I get my MLM 2

I figured I'd wait until I get my MLM 2 to decide if I need a stand since I'll be using it outdoors

So having done the stickers, I'm going back to the RPT balls after I use up my current stock of stickers. Even being really careful to hit nothing but white spots they can easily get to a point where you start getting misreads well before the ball itself is too worn for the screen. From an application perspective, I did everything perfectly. I even threw them in the oven at 170f for 30 min to get the glue to activate (this step really does help a lot). The RPT balls that came with the MLM2 lasted far longer and the covers end up chewed up before the dots go. Though, to be fair to the stickers my issues came when I was using them in my garage over the winter when it was 35-40F. It might be that the stickers just shouldn't be used in the cold, they started popping off whole from impact rather than being chewed up by grooves.

Can't say with regard to a marker and template, as that can't be used with an impact screen (marker will ruin an impact screen as it smudges off).

I can help with both, as I just picked up an MLM2 Pro as well as a stand and have Sharpied up some balls. I too hit in a net at home.

Leveling stand for $30-35 on eBay. I picked up one that someone 3D printed. It is helpful. Before the stand, I used the monitor and had to find a really flat spot and also find some boards to set it on to get it up to mat height. With the stand , it was much faster and easier to raise it up and get it level without any worries about the exact spot on the ground. I figure this will help when going to the range too.

I purchased a 3D printed ball marker tool as well. Not a fan of this. The ball spins in the tool, so even with it “locked down” you still have to be careful. All may not be like that. But what is worse is that Sharpies wear off, even days later. They did say that “tag” markers are better. Maybe a better marker or paint would be better? The marker actually rubbed off on the clubs. But it comes off easy with a little alcohol. The real balls that come with the unit are perfect, and these marked up balls are not competing yet. I am open to trying a better marker.
