Renaissance Club - Scotland

Afternoon all, 

 

I am in the area of the Renaissance Club on Friday, I have spoken to the club manager who has stated there is a some availability to play.

 

Is there any members or known members who could potentially assist with booking a tee time for myself and my younger brother?

Sorry I can’t help you out. But I have a question for you. Did Renaissance finally go fully private? Our group played there a couple years ago and we heard rumors about going fully private. I wish you good luck in finding a sponsor. An interesting and challenging golf course. And the restaurant is very good.

Yup, it's now fully private. My younger brother has a tough time lately with extra pressure of exams etc, trying to give him some positivity! I always think it's a shame when it's closed completely to the public.

I have a friend who is a member but he is all over the world with his philanthropy. In all honesty I doubt you would find someone to ask a friend etc. It's one of those things that someone has to offer than you ask. 

 

In all honesty I would rather play quite a few courses ahead of Renaissance. I know you can certainly pay your way on without a member; friend is doing that this summer but it is certainly not worth the money.

Honestly, how many big guns are worth the rack rate? Top golf is vastly overpriced. I just played a week of visitor fee golf in Scotland, all bar one on courses I would recommend. Total price for six courses…£119.

We ended up playing Dunbar and Craigielaw. 

 

Dunbar was one of my favourite ever tracks, insane golf course.
