Reviews on G/Fore Circle Stand Bag??

Any one have this baby?  Just ordered it and wonder everyones thoughts.  I've had my eye on it for a while and finally it was too cheap to pass up (can also return in 30 days).

 

Main questions, how is storage?  I bring a valuables pouch (w sunscreen, meds, etc), usually dozen balls in a box, another smaller valuables pouch that holds tees, and the occasional pullover when its not 100 in STL.  Is storage good?

 

Also current bag has 5 club slots (TM Flextech circa 2021?), this has 4 is there enough room for 14 clubs? Tangle?

 

Really like the look , price was incredible so hoping it works!

It is basically a Gfore branded Sun Mountain 2.5. Great price!

I’m not sure it’s a rebranded 2.5 though - it weighs a pound more.

I also have one inbound. 
 

Someone in another thread said it was a SM 2.5 with the 3.5 straps which is a common mod. I can imagine the straps weighing more but not sure it would be a full pound more.

I’m ready for a smaller bag to carry and hope to carry a lot of rounds this season. I’m going to get some kind of little extra bag to hold the stuff I rarely need like rain gloves and such. That stuff resides in my bag but doesn’t need to.

Thanks guys, my add didn't allow me to wait for delivery. Got golf galaxy to price match and was able to take one home Friday.

 

It's def not a 2.5+ as the club opening is the same size as the 3.5 (9 inches) so far all my stuff fits, looks amazing (,wife agrees so that tells u something), super excited!!!

I bought it for my “less than 18” sojourns at the club. I have a ClicGear/Alphard combo for regular rounds on our hilly course, and have been using a Callaway Sunday bag for the range or just playing a few holes. It’s fine, but only has short legs and doesn’t hold a full set. This GFore bag should work out well for my needs.

 

BTW, if you bought it from Carls’s as I did, they lowered the price another $30. Their website says they’ll send a refund for any price reductions within 30 days, so that makes a great deal really ridiculous.

I went down a rabbit hole looking at Sun Mountain bags to figure out what it is - it appears closest to the 2022 3.5.

Cool, thanks. My order was $160 including tax and $20 for an accelerated shipping option. At that price it only needs to last a season or two to be worthwhile.

I posted this review in another thread. The bag is great for walking, super light and comfortable with no club tangle. There isn't crazy storage, but that is nice to keep me from being a pack rat. It isn't the best for taking it on a cart, but that wasn't what it was designed for. Love the bag, not too flashy like other G/Fore bags, and it'll be my go-to this year.

You got me worried, why isnt it the best for a cart lol?  I'm in a cart 99% of the time!

My comparison for the cart is a Titleist hybrid 14, so not a fair fight lol. The Titleist bag has extra reinforcement on the legs for when it gets strapped in as well as a strap pass thru. I also noticed that all of my clubs decided to clump to one side when riding, nothing was concerning but there are inconveniences made from using a lightweight carry bag when riding instead of a bag made for being on a cart.

Thanks!  I did notice the no strap pass through which my TM Flextech had but I said to myself that cant be a reason I don't keep this bag ha.  The 2nd bag that I've always wanted but didn't want to spend were the Vessel stand bags and I noticed they didn't have the pass through either.

It is a great bag, especially at the heavy discount. It has given me a reason to walk this year with how lightweight the bag is and how well it sits on my shoulders. I have had more issues with my shoes than the bag, and my course's front nine is almost a 4 mile HILLY hike.

If you are looking for a great cart bag with legs so you can carry, look at the Callaway Fairway bags. 14 way divider, very spacious and designed to be relatively secure in a push cart. I use mine for most of my rounds, in a ClikGear/Alphard V2 combo.

 

I played my first round carrying the GFore bag yesterday. Very lightweight and intelligently designed. Two of the guys I played with yesterday liked it enough to buy it last night….

Yeah it's a little weird to downgrade a walking bag based on not having cart-friendly features, but I get it. I like walking but there are plenty of times I end up riding just to fit into the vibe of the foursome. I'm not going to walk in a charity scramble or if a client invites me to play and wants to ride. 

 

My G/FORE (Sun Mtn) bag arrived last night but I haven't had any time with it. It does feel appreciably lightweight, and it presents as solid navy blue. The way the G/FORE dripping paint logo is highlighted in the online pics is a bit deceptive, but in a good way. It's less ugly than I feared.

Thanks! Ya basically i just needed something that looked good, even though I rarely walk still wanted lightweight/not a large 'footprint' when i stand it up or put it in my trunk and something that would hold all my stuff.

 

I rarely, never play in rain so carrying stuff like rain gear etc. Isnt a concern of mine.  I need to be able to carry a box of balls, tees, maybe a snack bar, and a pullover/hoody.

 

Who knows, maybe ill hate it haha but for $130 ($50 actually after I sold another bag i had for $80) I have to give it a try and see.

I've had my bag for about a week and walked 18 with it on Sunday. I dropped two clubs that I don't need on my friend's course so it was extra light. 

 

IMO this is about as good as a walking stand bag can be. Nothing about it annoyed me enough to raise my blood pressure. The straps are good, there's minimal club tangle and the loaded bag's weight never crossed my mind. 

 

The zippers for the ball pocket and the pocket that sits right above it are pretty sticky and hard to operate with one hand. And sometimes when I take the bag off the  nylon part of the main strap falls across the top opening of the bag. These are tiny nitpicks. 

 

I only have three wedges in the section closest to the legs so I'll probably move my PW into that section to spread the clubs out a bit more. My club distribution will be

 

driver, mini driver, five wood, putter 

 

hybrid, 5i, 6i      /      7i, 8i, 9i

 

 PW, AW, SW, LW

 

I haven't used the bag on a cart yet but plan to do so on Thursday.

The zippers are sticky, but thankfully don't feel cheap. I do miss pulling on the slight opening on the ball pocket to quickly open it for a reload, but maybe having to take an extra half second will help me keep my cool after hooking a drive into a pond😂.

Since I bought this bag, two of my buddies at my club bought it too. It’s awesome for walking. Our course is fairly hilly so I generally walk 18 with my electronic cart, but use this bag to go to the range or walk 9 holes. It’s perfect for that.
