What is the difference here?

Hi all. Never posted here before but I’m getting frustrated. For the last few weeks I’m hitting a very low pull and sometimes a snap hook. Only having issues with driver. Driver is generally straight maybe with a slight push. Irons always a draw. I play a pretty strong grip. Posting two videos one from a few months ago where everything was good and one from today where I can’t stop hitting this ugly low pull. Face looks really closed but I can’t figure out how to open it more. Obviously trying to avoid a grip change. Can’t tell if I’m not rotating well or what. Curious on what looks different from these two videos. Probably going to book a lesson with my pro but figured I’d post it here first. Thanks

What are you doing? You HAVE to dump that following the club back with your head thing. How did that become your swing?

Edit: that grip is the root of so many of your problems. It’s not a functional grip at all, and if you’re unwilling to deal with it you’re always going to fight pull hooks.

Is watching the club head part of your actual swing or is that just something you did for the video? If you do it for every swing the @TheDeanAbides is right, you need to get rid of it. It will cause you all kinds of problems.

While most of us will never have a pro caliber swing there is merit in trying to emulate a successful player. There are all kinds of different looking swings on the tour, but eventually all of them get to a good position at impact. You need to find which swing works best for you, but a good starting point to consider is if literally no one is rotating their head during the backswing as you are doing there is probably a reason they don’t.

You would likely see a big improvement if you invest in some lessons and get a couple of fundamentals straightened out.

I was going to say the same thing about the grip, although the fact that the clubface is heinously shut is part of the problem as well obviously.

@Mash42 It looks like you've removed the videos now, but the actual difference between those two swings was the amount you were bowing your left wrist. Your clubface is completely shut in the "better" swing a'la DJ, which is difficult to manage, and it was actually *closing* in the worse swing to the point the face is more shut at the top than it was at address. These are all severe extremes and a lot of it comes back to the grip which you can't keep if you want to improve beyond this. For now though, don't bow your left wrist like that and you'll at least undo that part.
