Help with putting alignment

Hey guys, just wanted to get some thoughts on putter alignment. When standing over the ball for a putt, I tend to end up aiming right of my target. Recently I've been using my ball to line up my putts so that has improved my putting drastically, but when standing over the ball it won't look quite right. I am able to trust my line on the ball, but I would definitely like to be able to stand up to the ball without a line and aim at my intended target.

My question is, has anyone here found that certain alignment aids on the putter help more than others for a rightward alignment? Is this just a personal preference that I have to figure out myself, or simply needing practice to get used to aligning correctly? I recently picked up an AI-ONE MILLED ELEVEN T DB and the three lines on the top seem to help (previously putter was an odyssey white hot OG 7) but am curious to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

You can set a string over your line on a straight putt, put an alignment stick down, eyeline check with a mirror - whatever it takes and works for you. I just have a friend I trust check if I think it’s an issue. Strangely I have a big problem with aiming right on with my full swing and honestly don’t with putter. IMO not something just a mark on the putter will solve. 
 

You can also video your setup and stroke face on and dtl.

I was having a heck of a time until recently. Prior I was always a decent putter.
 

For the last few years my start line had become incredibly inconsistent. Then I noticed that when I walked up and just  brushed a putt without fully addressing the ball, it usually went online and was well struck. So…

 

Now I walk up to the ball from behind, watching my start line as I do. Set the putter online as I get to the ball. But I never square up. I’m kind of 1/4 open. 
 

Now I rarely miss my line or miss hit a putt. My poor putts are almost 100% misreads. 
 

I’m certainly not hitting sidesaddle though. My head is over the ball. 
 

Not sure why it works, but I’m not going to fight it. 
 

Oh, and I do use the lines on top of my putter. 😀

Putting alignment doesn't follow logical processes. It's a sub/c knowing the even if you perceive something as off that still allows you to perform.

No expert by any means, but if you step up to the ball with your right foot first that should square the shoulders more than if you stepped in with your left first. Even if you set up with your left foot slightly behind your right
