Putter swingweight question - Scotty Cameron

So I just got my Scotty 5.5 and while testing it in the store I knew I wanted to get 34" weights in a 35" putter.  I would probably shorten it to 34.5" in the future anyways and the test model head felt a little too light in my hands so I ordered the Heavy version as I have in the past.   

 

The made for spec label listed everything appropriate however the SW reads F0.  I thought wow, that is quite a bit higher than I expected with 10 more grams.  I placed it on my basic golfworks SW scale, the one you slide and balance, and it reads E7 for me.  I really don't think my scale is that far off, I actually feel it is pretty dead on and in a very level spot.  

 

Are putters measured differently?  Is it possible they just wrote F0 because it has 10 more grams and should be that SW but didn't actually measure it?

Your scale probably isn't wrong, I think you're seeing the inconsistency of retail clubs

 

They generally can't make two heads absolutely identical. Pros go through dozens of driver heads until one clicks, and they already have access to equipment that has undergone a lot more checks

the SW scale is designed to match a set of irons, or a set of woods, it makes no sense on putters.

 

Just like we need to with irons, tune one club first  THEN measure it, its the same with putters, so all you get, is a repair reference.

 

DONT try to navigate using SW values, go strictly by feel and impact, so never mind what return value the SW scale delivers

Love it.  The more I read through the club tech threads and ask questions, the more I understand a bit more what these scales and tools mean and how to properly use them!!!  Thanks Howard!!
