What is an acceptable amount time to respond to someone nowadays? A little context. A guy bought a golf Bag from me on Monday. He asked that I really try and hustle to get it shipped Monday. I raced home from work, packaged it and dropped it off at my local Pakmail(a store that offers any and all

shipping solutions but also a convenient drop off location). It is very common for the post office to not scan as they pickup there as they usually get quite a lot of packages. Guy messages me today on eBay at 3:01 pm. 7:26 he had now messaged me 4 other times. 3 of which were a barrage of question marks then at 7:26 he was “going to reach out to eBay customer service if he didn’t hear from me soon.” What is an acceptable amount of time for a response nowadays. I’m 38 years old and will be the first to say, I’m not a person who’s very attached to my phone, in fact, I wish we could roll all this connectivity back a bit sometimes. Really just venting here. But, I am curious to see what people have to say on a response time. Cheers.

The person is a moron.  I would expect an answer by later in the evening and that would be fine unless you had communicated that there would be an earlier response.

Well, the problem's been resolved by now no doubt, but your question is what is an acceptable time to respond ? LOL

 

In most cases, I would think same day or at least next day while a transaction is "in progress".

 

You sold it on Monday and handled the request to ship it quickly, so you set his expectation to be that you were available during the day.
