Remember Tom Slighter?

Has anyone had Tom do work recently? I met him a hundred years ago and have owned several back when he was hot. Still have a Seattle that my boy has in his bag.

No idea if he's doing putters anymore, remember a few years back he kinda had a comeback with a new business partner but then went silent.

I'll occasionally look for any lefties that he made but I've seen like 2 or 3 for sale since I've started looking.

Yeah, I miss his presence. His website leaves a lot to be desired nowadays. Loved his carbon and copper putters. Looks like only stainless now

Tom did things pretty "right" in my opinion. He built a company making some very nice, very customized putters for customers. Simultaneously, he worked a very full-time job and when he had the money taken care of, he moved to Hawaii. He surfs, sits on the beach drinking Mai Tai's and I believe he is enjoying the fruits of his labors. He put his company and brand in the hands of a very talented CNC machinist and I have heard that he comes stateside from time to time and consults on designs. I have owned several of his putters over the years and actually still have a trio of his work in my shop, today.

I liked his designs from early on, the Tacoma, Bellevue and even the Needle a little more than what we have seen in the last few years. But, that is the beauty of putters. One design really hits home with a sect and another design is a miss. Every miss has a home somewhere.

Tom was one of the very formative men in my life's choice of career and I hope that he is doing fantastic, wherever he may be.

Here are a few that I had at one time, from Tom and from eBay. Loved them all and rolled them fairly well. It has been a while since I was on the links, but the memories are good.

I had one I almost couldn’t give away! Couldn’t believe it! Really nice putter just went to the full mallet gang.

Also I tried to email him about a year ago about sending it in for some custom work and didn’t get a response.

I think it depends like I saw 2 blades and 1 I regret not buying and there was a Redmond that was bouncing around a while.

Also depends on price and what not, but also a lot have had personal stamps and I don't want someone's names on my putter, I don't even like my name on them.

I had the Redmond! No initials. It was a slick putter I’m sure I’ll regret selling it like I always do lol

I only had Tom make me one putter but he was fantastic to work with and he called me to finalize things and we talked for an hour just about golf and life. He is a genuine person and I am glad I got to work with him
