Undersize Grip Options

Hi all,

I tried searching but only found older threads from back in the day on this subject. What are the best undersize grips on the market these days? will a .580 undersize grip on a .600 shaft really just be a standard grip or will you still notice a difference?

There are several options, but many have been discontinued. I am a fan of the Star Sidewinder, and used Golfpride VDR before. a .580 on a .600 shaft will make the grip slightly larger.

.580 on a .600 shaft will be a little smaller than standard, but not a lot.

Star Sidewinder 360 undersize are pretty good. Iomic Sticky 1.8 are good.

If you want really small, I've put Iomic Lady/Junior .560 grips on .600 shafts, and they are very small.

I think Lamkin makes some quality undersize grips and ladies as well.

Golf Pride has an undersize option with the MCC Plus 4.

Other way around. A smaller grip core on a bigger shaft produces a larger outer diameter of the grip. A bigger grip core on a smaller shaft produces a smaller outside diameter of the grip.

Iomic has the 1.8 and a ladies/kids size.

I use sticky 2.3s and haven't found a better grip. Love the tack in humid southern summers.

Normally 0.580 core on a 0.600 butt gives us about plus 0.020, but not if the grip is undersize (less rubber thickness), so we really get back to almost the same as standard.

im too rusty on those numbers, but have a box of GP DD2 "ladies" grips with 0.580 core, so when i get home, i can measure where that brings us, i simply cant recall those numbers, but my memory say "out and home = same distance".

The option to undersize is stretching during install..takes lots of solvent, plus tape to fix the grips in its streched position

Yes, this is what I was saying. With the Star Sidewinder, I was seeing a slightly smaller size than standard. I actually just pulled my undersize and replaced them with standard, to get them a little larger.
