Hole in one story

Ok here goes. I have been taching a young boy named Sung Won once a week for the past year and a half. We have worked on all parts of his game, but he had NEVER actaully been on the golf course, and played a legit hole before last Monday. Sung went out for his middle school golf team which had it's first match Monday which would be his first round of golf. The first hole is a par 3 about 135 yards into the wind, and Sung makes an ace with his 7 iron!!!!!! The kid holes his first real shot!!!! The best part of the story is he says "everyone was making a big deal about it, but I tried to make it"!!! ;)

Man that's just incredible. First off, thats got to be an amazing way to start a round. Secondly, that's got to be an amazing way to start your golf career. I know if my first shot ever was an Ace, I'd never quit the game.

I am going to try and do something nice for him. His mom bought him a driver that he has been wanting for a long time.

if I aced my first ever hole, I'd throw down the club, punch my competitor in the face, kiss the first girl I saw, then walk off the course, never to be seen again.

Awesome story Zach. Congrats on what had to be a helluva job giving this kid some learnin' before sending him off to play. Only questions I have are 1) did he make the team? 2) what did he score on the next hole? 3) did you let him borrow your id to buy drinks for everyone in his group? ;)

I did ask him where the ball was. He replied... in the water... I lost it the next day ;)

that's amazing, i've had lots of close calls, almost irritating to a point, but no aces yet. what did he score on the round? heading to the second hole 2 under definitely isn't a bad start.

That's an awesome story. I'm going on my 6th season this year and still don't have a hole in one. I'm just curious why he waited so long to finally play his first round?

He is not going to fully understand why his approach shots just don't go in the hole for quite some time.

Have yet to ace on myself. Closest was 2.5 inches behind the hole (lipped out) in a scramble. I would have won an Escalade, and it was my first year playing golf. Got closest to the hole for the scramble and won a set of crappy irons.
