Question on Tour Authentic Irons

Dots and Serial Numbers

I've now seen three sets of the Callaway Prototype Tour Authentic Irons. Two sets have R on the hosel with a black dot on each side (like the wedges). One set has the R only it is surrounded by two black dots on each side (4 total). Two of the sets have a serial number on the 8 iron, while one set has no serial numbers. Any ideas what if anything is significant. The four dot appears to have a thinner width sole grind although to prove it I would need to have all sets together. Figured maybe Joe or others that have seen or have sets might know what if anything the dots means.

are we talking x-forged ? 4 dots is supposed to be high bounce.

My guy says that the dots around the R in X PROTOTYPE signify the different lie angles we get them built to at Endo. The clubs we sell will include serial numbers to help track product and better help consumers who have bought the product.

Thanks Joe, that makes sense since these are anything but high bounce. Very thin width sole. They supposedly came from the tour, which may be true since I haven't seen anyone claiming to have a production "Tour Authentic" set yet......

I have had 4 sets of Callaway tour issue irons and every one of them had thinner soles than retail.

Sry for bringing back from the dead everyone, but can anyone give me more info on the dots around the R? One of my buddies here has the X Forged and his hosel has 3dots w/ the R in the middle. His X on the back seems to be more grey in color than anyone elses we've seen.

I game and am an expert the protos, the dots signify varying bounces. Mine are the cc version stamped ..R.. V. Those are the best, mine have standard bounce, i.e. 2* on my 2 iron Yes, I said 2 iron
