How many balls a day can you hit?

my problem with hitting a ton of balls at the range isn't so much that my hands start feeling sore, but more that I start losing focus (call it golf ADD). at most, i can probably hit about 300-350 balls before my mind starts wandering and i consequently start hitting some poor shots.

I can't imagine hitting 1000 balls in a day. I'm pretty deliberate at the range, so I usually take between 45 seconds and a minute per ball so that would be 12 to 16 hours of nonstop hitting for me. The most I've ever hit was probably about 250 balls.

I usually hit about 45 balls every morning at 7am-745 am all wedge practice. Then at least 3 times a week at lunch i hit about 100 balls then after work 5:30pm- 7:00pm i go to the range and hit as many as i want $20.00 buys me 480 balls 3 times a week. On Thursdays and Fridays i go to my swing coaches place at 6pm-7pm and hit a gazillion balls while he watches and critiques my swing. Weekends: PLAY TIME BABY. 18-36 holes sat or Sunday or both.

 

I practice like a Mad Man because i want to get to Scratch by the end of the season, thats my goal. Practice is what makes us great golfers! I do not HACK at the range or on any of my practice sessions i take my pre-swing routine each time and intensely focus on each swing.

I average about 150 a day ,after that its pointless as i start losing focus and then start practicing my bad habits

ive got golf pride multi compound grips and they rip my hands to bits

1000 including half and 3/4 shots. theres not much merit in just batting them out there, but every once in a while i'll spend about 5 hours on the range.

If I may ask, how do you afform (monetarily) 1000 balls a day and have the time to do such a thing?

I go to the Professional Golfers Career College. we have classes from 8am-noon then we can hit balls for free or play or go home or whatever til whenever we want. i need to hit that many balls, though for sure. I put up some monster numbers the past few days...

I like what was said about the focus deal. May be the best thing you could do is take in small parts. Nick Price did hit 30 balls at times and felt good about his practice.

I have my kids start with a bucket over in the pitching area and putting for an hour min...then hit the basket after they hit 15-40 yard pitches...
