I bought the short irons 7,8,9 to go with my Tour-W wedges 47*,54* and 60*

S57's have a better ( softer) feel and are slightly more forgiving.

Anybody need some i10 short irons? 7-Pw hardly used!!

:russian_roulette: That is what I'm talking about!!

I figured, after hitting the new tour wedges, that these would be an improvement over the s58s.

I read that the 57s are supposed to be a bit larger and it sounds like they will be a bit more forgiving than the 58s. LOVE to hear that they feel soft!! Looks like I'll be giving the s57s a shot at replacing the TREMENDOUS i5s.

Thanks for the information.

I heard just the opposite, that the 57's would be smaller?

I could be wrong, but I remember reading that these would be slightly larger than the s58s, and even slightly larger than the i10s.

That is what has me SO interested in these new irons. I LOVE my i5s and IMO if Calc can win on tour with a head as big and forgiving as the i5s, then I certainly don't need to be hitting something smaller and less forgiving. LOL

I'll post some pics tomorrow. I held them up to my friends S58's and to be honest the are almost exactly the same size and shape. Maybe a hair thicker top line and a hair thinner sole. Most noticable difference is the back cavity and the toe tungsten ( W )

Got a set for my buddy a few weeks ago. Hit them a few times. They are nice sticks. Heads are touch bigger than S58 but not much. I love the look of the heads, minimal offset and good size. Soft feeling and forgiving. They did not dig for me. The Zz65 shafts that are suppose to be stiff are actually quite weak so i had a problem with them. From a head perspective, I like them alot. Not the same great forged feeling like my TM R7 forged but they feel good. I think they are a little to dampened for my taste. He has Tour W wedges and they blend perfectly together.

A friend brought a set back from Japan. I tried them and certainly wouldn't change from a set of S58s. Nothing to recommend spending $1500 for a set over a $849 set of S58s. The top line is thicker in all the irons. The scoring irons are about the same size. The longer irons are slightly longer heel to toe (may even be bigger overall). The offset seems about the same but in the long irons the way Ping blends the hosel into the head looks like more offset than it really is. The long irons (2-5) would all need the offset reduction treatment to make them tolerable looking at address. Certainly isn't a noticeable difference in feel (with the tungsten weight) like the Tour W wedges were from the Tour wedges. My guess is Ping will have to downsize the long irons before they bring them here... They don't have the traditonal USA in the cavity, which would also probably change in the U.S. offering.

A guy on ham and egg has a set. He said the size is almost the same as S58 (as has been said already), and that he hits them a little higher and shorter than his S57's. The finish is a little different - brushed i/o blasted. They look nice and that is what I'd buy if they were S58 priced
