Taylormade Tour fitting at Reynolds Plantation?

Have not gone through the entire fitting process at Reynolds Plantation. That location is considered to be "Kingdom East"

To date they are considering opening up the process to the general public. But to my knowledge admission is still basically the same as in the original "Kingdom" in Carlsbad.

You have to have an appointment and typically only PGA Pro's and guest members are allowed entrance.

Please someone correct me if this is no longer the case.

You can still go and get "fitted" at the Taylor Made facility in Carlsbad, but this is not the same as going through the complete "Kingdom" experience. (which if I am not mistaken also includes going through the Rossa Lab)

My wife got it for me last year as a birthday present. It's sort of a mix of a club fitting session, swing analysis and a Taylormade sales pitch. The club fitting and the swing analisys were great, but the sales pitch got old. I took away a couple things form the session - (1) The computer feedback/analysis said that I should go with a 10 degree driver over my 9 degree version because I deloft the face a little at impact - my face angle was at about 7.5 degrees (it's pretty amazing what the computer will show); and (2) I should have my irons bent 1 degree flat. On the second point, the guys operating the session said that with my only needing a 1 degree adjustment, it would not make that much of a difference. I additionally learned that I consistently hit the ball with my irons a tiny fraction towards the toe - not enough to feel or to cause me to lose any distance (I'm still hitting it in the sweetspot), but the computer showed it nevertheless - this is probably why the 1 degree adjustment was recommended. Additionally, I consider myself a pretty good putter, and the computer confirmed that I was getting a lot of overspin on my putts (they said I had the second best reading they had ever seen), but that I tend to aim a little to the right of my target (not surprising since I put on an arc). I ended letting them build a putter for me according to the computers specs (a monza, for better alignment, with a little less loft than normal). However, it now sits in my basement and I'm back to a blade putter. It was fun, and a great experience, but at the end of the day, the only thing that really helped my game was going to the 10 degree driver. I could've gotten that info from a launch monitor session and saved some dinero.

They can.

They hook you up to everything, put you in an almost "suit" of eyes and reflectors. They have the high speed cameras, and spend 2-3 hours going over everything, putting together everything that you need.

I don't think you can go to the Kingdom, but you can go in the preformance lab if your a guest of the resort, or a member.

They can build it for you there, but I don't even want to imagine what it would cost!

I went through the experience during Masters week. Anyone can go if you are willing to pay the 400 bucks. You can also select to do a woods fitting or a putter fitting if you want to spend less and focus on one thing. Overall I would say it was a cool experience but no where near worth the money. I came away finding out that my clubs were the correct lie for me but with the new R7 tp's, they used a heavier head and cut down all their clubs a quarter of an inch to compensate so now my clubs that should be .5 inches over standard are only .25 inches over standard - I have addressed this with my club pro who just shrugged his shoulders and with Taylor Made and they said their was nothing they could do.

The one thing that did annoy me at the kingdom was the fact that they basically had no clubs for my specs. They recommended the new tour burner without having one for me to try in the recommended specs. When I asked the guy how I could possibly try one to see if it really did work he basically told me I would have to buy one and hope. They do not give discounts on the clubs over what you could get at Edwin Watts. I would avoid this and look for a good club fitter in your area with all the best launch equipment and put he $ into new clubs

i went in march w/my coach who is a TM staff pro and was fitted on the MATT system...for me, if you bought 8 clubs (set of irons), the fitting was $250 (if not, $500) and you had access to the facility all day, which consisted of a full driving range, a pitch shot range to a green, putting green and chipping/bunker green...hit the z wedges before they were out and the tour burner driver, tour burner irons weren't in yet...they provided lunch and had donuts for breakfast and coffee/hot chocolate, etc...also hit balls next to tadd fujikawa who was getting a fitting before heading to his swing coach at St Simon's?? yeah, he's short and bombs em...last year, i paid a guy $150 for 2 hours on a driving range, though he was very good and has the accolades to prove it...but i knew i was going w/the r7 tps, so for the extra $100 for the all day facility and technology experience, and the fact that my swing coach actually went w/me, worth it...

why did i get fitted again? my deal is i've gone from a RH golf who hung on my right side and flipped at the ball (last year) to developing a good turn and weight shift and creating more clubhead speed, which is why got fitted again......i had tested different titelist and mizuno irons before, but i needed help getting the ball in the air and tm r7 tp's did that for me better...i played macgregor m685's before...

their customization w/putters doesn't go outside what they sell retail...my putter is cut down to ~31inches...bc i have longer arms and i feel more comfortable w/them hanging...makes it easier for me to make a more back and forth "stroke"...w/the longer putters, i tend to "hit" at the ball w/my hands...their fitting system recommended 33in bent 4deg flat, which didn't make sound as good as cutting it down to where i have it (isao aoki's putting style came to mind)...so i didn't get much out of that...

imo, the kingdom is worth it if you know you want TM clubs and want them fitted better than the box store...if you're not sure and are testing vs different models, your local clubfitter/store/pro shop will do just fine...
