The Adams Tour Rep "Sticky Williams" had some goodies in the trailer and also in his own bag. This head was shafted up and ready for play. Prototype of the new FW metal to be seen soon in retail. Called the Pro FP400F.

It is funny that they really have made a move towards a more compact head. The 4060 and 3070 were more pleasing to my eye this one looks like you would really have to nail it in the center.

A proto of this head was on ebay last week. Not sure what it went for, but don't think it was much.

That is because it is too small for most people. If you ask me this just looks like a more robust version of the BTY which sold horribly due to the small head. You can get them on ebay for next to nothing whereas the hybrids that everyone loves sell for much more due to their mass appeal. An iron is one thing but I want a wood to look nice and solid at address not so compact. The burner 3 wood to me is the perfect size.

I love the bty off the fairway - but it is on the small side for most people.

I like the smaller head! That's probably why I like the old TM 200's and my Nike t60 and t40 tour! Adams is making some nice equipment! IMO

I have a BTY 4 wood but have recently gone back to my RPM tour. I don't mind the smaller size. I just think the PL red in it not for me.

That thing looks great. I've been on the fence about their newest fairway/hybrid concept. I like hte feel and results, but can not stand the square look. I much prefer a more traditional bulb look.

 

I think I'll wait to replace my aging Adams tight lies GT2 5 wood until this comes out.

The Pics make this head look smaller than it is. I didnt think small when I was messing around with it. I would say the older Taylor made R7 type size.

Does anybody know if this is bound for retail? Will this be the fw complement to the next Adams driver coming down the pipeline? I really like the look of it and would love to hit it. Thanks again for the great pictures, it's always cool to see stuff like that first and then tell my Adams rep about it, haha.

BTY with high MOI! That's not a bad thing boys; might be a winner. I agree the BTY wasn't your grampa's fairway wood but when you got that sucker she was a beast. The Voodoo on the other hand is 100% on my short list; I'm hearing nothing but good things for the smooth swinger; aka. 660TR smooth. Now that's what I'm talkin about...

I am developing a love / hate relationship with Adams.

 

I love my BTY, and I love the new XTD Pro FW / hybrid / whatever (almost pulled the trigger today but considering a special order), and now news of "soon to be released" BTY w/ weight / high moi???

 

Adams...Please, please, please do not become TM. 2-3 new models per year will not sit well with this audience. Come out with 3 new models every 2 years (or even less...look at the quality of Bridgestone's offerings), get your suppliers in check, and continue to make huge strides in market share and tour presence. Don't go down in flames!

 

Great equipment, but the red flags are starting to go up...

 

OK. Back to reality. How can I get my hands on this bad boy? C'mon retailers and Adams insiders. What's the release date?

These are higher launching and a touch more spin that the BTY Tour's. Hotmelt should be popular on these, as they are very tingy. Also the newest version has a paint break on the crown/hosel, much like the Nickent 4dx hybrids have.

A4 line will be available soon. The new 9015 and 9016 will be released as well, only it will be called the A4 Tech
