Japan Titleist Vokey TVD wedges

Anyone tried them yet?

Just curious if anyone has tried the Japan Titleist Vokey TVD wedges. I play on firm conditions so apparently they wouldn't be ideal. According to tourspec they were designed for the soft conditions typically found in Japan (i.e. - high bounce). My wedges now have quite a bit of bounce since I'm a digger, but just not sure if these might be a bit too much.

So Titleist figured that the Japanese golfer would appreciate having available at retail 52-60 Spin Milled Wedges with the tour proven M-Grind, but over here in N.A. we have to order them from the Vokey site for $250. I still don't get it Wally.

Vokey Wedges are Number one one the Japanese Tour. Have been for quite awhile. They have not had success in the JDM retail market and Bob V. just did a Tour of Japan where he was very well received. I believe that the selling of these wedges in Japan, was a strategic decision to try to get some market share back from there competitors and whether that's a good thing or not, depends upon how many people find out about the JDM market. You have to figure over time, that those wedges will get offered via the TVD site.

How much are the Japanese ones compared to the N.A. ones

be patient, 48 or 52-62 or 64 deg lofts will be had in the US for 109.99 each here shortly in Oilcan, Satin, or Black Nickel finishes, its part of the new US release, also will have variable bounce options as well :drinks:

yeah but they arent gonna be the TVD line, its a totally new line coming out in the fall

I have found mine on ebay from a japanese seller. They are expensive but all good things are expensive. I have get them on saturday and they are GREAT. You can't imagine the spin that they get. On the practice range, I could find some part of the ball after each shot inside the grooves. They are like rasors.

I found the website www.tourspecgolf.com which is the Japanese site supposedly selling the TVD wedges. I placed an order on June 21st for (6) wedges...my brother and I were purchasing a set of 52,56,60 for our bags...got confirmation that this order will ship with the July shipments...I emailed them this morning asking when I am going to get them, and they told me that my order could not be fulfilled and I am #18 on the waiting list for the next round...

 

I will happily wait for whatever Titleist releases to the US market...would rather support Domestic sales anyhow!!!

From a previous poster, are you sure Titleist is the number 1 wedge here??(Im in Japan) I only ask as I have played maybe 10 games since ive been here and i was the only one i could see with Vokeys in th bag. Big one here thta i noticed is Fourteen and maybe Titleist could come after that. The Taylormade wedges are pretty popular to.

OK so I've ordered the 60 and then the 56 in progression hoping the 52 would be next; nope it's the 60-M. Doe's anyone know if the 52 will be next in line on the Vokey site? I would love to complete my set.

OK how about a little update - anymore feedback on the Japan Titleist wedges? Having seen the new Vokey offerings over here I'm disappointed that it appears the grinds aren't incorporated into the lower lofts.
