Before everyone gets too excited, I think you should be very skeptical that the retail release of the F3-05 (if it does actually happen) will be anything like the tour proto F3-05. I have one of these clubs and while I think it is the BEST 3-wood ever made, it's current design will only fit a very select group of people. Keep in mind that there are very few Titleist staffers even playing it.

 

Any retail release will be different from the tour model...if nothing else than weighting and launch angle.

I was told the other day that there is a F2-05 out on tour right now also. Smaller version.

 

 

There has always been a F2-05 along with the F3-05. The F2-05 has more of a shallow face. F3-05 is has the deeper face.

 

I have a friend that works for the tour dept at Titleist and from what he is telling me that the only thing that the 906 has that is close to the F3-05 is the deeper face. I'm not sure on color. And it will come with a retail set up, meaning closed face. He flat out told me that Titleist does not bring tour equipment to retail.

660 - RH only satin finish (chrome)

695MB - RH/LH

695CB - RH/LH

905R - RH/LH

 

The OC Spin Milled will be shipped a week or two later - finishing touches.

 

All of the above will be released March 1st and will show up at your friendly neighborhood pro shop soon thereafter.

 

585H (3 lofts/.335 tip/ RH/LH) will be out around June.

 

No new FW woods. The plan is to redesign the FW's. Will they be based off of the F3-05 ? Probably. A little or a lot ? Who knows - drawing board stage at this point. Probably in '07 but you never know ... maybe fall/early winter.

For all of you who are interested....the new fairway wood is the 906F2. I know there a bunch of posts on here but it looks nothing like the f3-05. I have seen it as well as the 585h in person and I have to admit both look awesome. Take a look for some posts and the picture that is on there is exactly what it will look like when it comes out the end of August.

THE F3.05 IS COMING PUBLIC AND WILL BE THE 2006 LINE OF FAIRWAY WOODS. THEY WILL BE CALLED THE 906. THE HYBRIDS WILL BE COMING PUBLIC ALSO.

 

OO OO OO OO OO OO ohmMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM. It actually would be nice for Titleist to finally produce a non dud fairway wood. Since PT and 970 they have a series of good looking failures in performance and sales.
