The Legend or The Wilderness?

I will be traveling up to NE Minnesota next month to play the The Quarry at Giant's Ridge. While I'm up there I would also like to play one more course. I have narrowed it down to The Legend at Giant's Ridge or the nearby Wilderness at Fortune's Bay.

 

I haven't played either of these so I would love to hear some thoughts on which one is better and why?

I truly think that there is no question: The Wilderness.

 

While the Legend is a fine golf course, The Wilderness is really good. I think an argument can be made that it is better than the Quarry. The same can't be said about the Legend at GR.

If you are up there you might as well play all three.

They are all three great courses but for ME I think the Wilderness is the nicest and if had to make a choice to play one of the three it would probably be the Wilderness. One thing to keep in mind, if they haven't had a lot of rain up there (which I don't know because I live in SE MN) and the DNR puts out watering restrictions they do NOT apply to the Wilderness because it is Indian tribe owned......thus making the Wilderness ALWAYS plush and green!

I don't disagree completely with the thoughts above, but I will say I think for a first time player The Legend is good enough that I would encourage playing all three once rather than a round at The Wilderness and two at The Quarry or vice versa if you have three rounds. Having said that, if time isn't an issue and you have two rounds I recommend The Quarry and The Wilderness. I have no particular issues with The Wilderness, but I think the Quarry is the superior course. Having played each course several times each (The Legend a few times less), I always leave with the strongest feeling towards The Quarry. It's a blast and you'll be hard pressed to find funner greens anywhere. Once again, there's no question reasonable arguments can be made for The Quarry or the The Wilderness. Someone mentioned their fondness for soft and lush course conditions, but I'd suggest being careful what you wish for. If there is a decent amound of rain prior to your visit The Wilderness doesn't drain anywhere near as well as The Quarry so that might be a consideration, especially if you don't want to play on sloppy course that is anything but a target golf course.
