Bending a Wood

I have a question have a TM R7st 15* and it has a stock shaft w/ a mid kick i like the weight of the club. I have it set-up with two 2gram weights. I feel that i hit the ball a bit to high. Plus i have a 585h 17* steel shaft that i hit just about the same distance with my 3wood. Now my question is can i bend my 3w to a 13* is it possible and what can be some of the side effects and maybe a range on cost

It's possible, but it's very possible that it ends in breakage.

 

I would just buy a new one. Even an experienced club maker might be apprehensive about doing so.

It can be done. I've done it, but sometimes you end up with a wrinkle near the hosel. Be prepared to have a lot of clubfitters refuse or have you sign a waiver in case of breakage.

As above. It's doable, but a lot more doable for someone who knows what they're about and has the right kit for the job. As alluded to above, ring around and see who's prepared to take it on, but be prepared for more refusals than a man with two heads trying to find a date at the Playboy Mansion.

 

Honestly, it's less hassle to find a TS model in 13 degrees.

thx for the post guys i think ill look into buying a new wood maybe just wait till 909 f comes out but ill look in taking my 3wood to c if i can get it bend for a low price if not im looking to get a new 3w

...and IF you can bend it 2° stronger without breaking it, you are going to also open up the face angle a little bit.

You can send it to me if you want it bent. I can stick it on a Mitchell wood bending machine. Face angle will change, and it might break. PM me if interested.

1. This head has a thin crown.

2. To bend this propely, You'll have to pull the shaft out first and put the right size rod inside the hosel, heat it up and bend to which ever direction you need to be.

3. I wouldn't let an amateur to do it to be honest.

4. from 15* to a 13*...Might as well buy the right loft. You'll end up spending less at the end of the day.
