I think it would be interesting to bring the Slingers out of retirement and reshaft a few of them with KBS shafts and see how they would fare.

Actually, I think Aldila was founded prior to Lil
David slingers, Bassakward, and Power Pod. They were 1974-1978, I believe. Aldila was from earlier in the 70's...back when graphite shafts were Heresy. I kinda still wish they were today.

Are the Power Pod irons re-branded Slingers?

I too have some 440s (three sets), an Orizaba Mini and a first generation Power Pod.

The 440s aren't ugly at all IMO. I love those things!

no, the power pod irons were their own thing. hard to find i found both sets on ebay within a couple weeks. i have it in a saved search but no sightungs in a few years now. i did grab a set of fila latitudes again. also found a 1-sw set of original ginty irons. zevo fly-ti's are great but no touch. Funny I have logged more rounds with my 440s and slingers than anything else and cant seem to get my ping isi coppers out of the garage. they may not be the best clubs for me but damn i have more fun playing them. odd that someone said they couldnt chip with them i found that slinger sole great for chipping from hardpan over a bunket and stopping in. . im also a huge fan of the 10 iron over the wedge. i will say that the only driver i hit now it the 2nd gen orizaba poewr pod ti. spent a hundred bones on a good shaft +1.5" ans a nice grip ill die with that thing in my bag. happy slingin'!

I am fond of Titliest B33 irons. A cast, hollow, foam filled rocket launcher with tungsten sole weighting. Had a set years ago and wish I still did. I would go with Wilson's Deep Red Fat Shaft design for my driver. Actually enjoyed much success with this back in the day. Putter of choice would be Pings Craz-E.

i would go with wilson invex woods. i actually had great sucess with them. esp the 3 a nd 7 woods . another oddball fw wood set is the old wood pat simmons tigersharks. way ahead of their time. low cg and ultra low profile. they are extremly long! too bad the heads are so tiny.

carbon/composite with a black gloss head and cherry face...does this remind us of any driver now out today?  :)

Nice to see you posting.  I got to meet your dad a few times. I’m a golf

pro in California who played a little.  In particular I got a putter from Mr Flood that was the shape of a Ping Zing, but without the cavity.  One of the best putters I tried.  Sadly went missing when I had some gear stolen.

mr Flood was a nice man to me.
