Sensicore/Prosoft Inserts in Project X's ?

Hi,

 

The conversations here about dampening insets seem to mainly revolve around using them in DG shafts. After hitting a lot of demo clubs I decided the Project-X 5.5 1* up has the best feel for me. When they arrive aside from getting them to my club fitter to install my preferred grips and taking them up 1* I am also very interested in considering having an insert added while he has the grips off.

 

Is there any reason the Project-X's are not as good a candidate for these as the DG products or other shafts ?

Other than personal "feel" preferences is there anything I need to be concerned about in considering this option for my new baby's?

I was a DG user my entire golf life until I bought a set of AP2s with Project X shafts. After hitting them for a bit developed tendonitis in my left elbow--which I have never had. Put some ProSoft inserts in the shafts and the elbow is much better. It would probably heal altogether if I just took a break for a bit.

 

They do mute the feel of the irons though--took a bit getting used to it.

Thanks for the reply.

I would hate to lose feel from the clubhead unless as in your case i felt I had to.

Appears to me the way to go is add my grips,bend the heads and play them for a while and see what happens. Probably the common sense way to go about it anyway.

FWIW, I've used the ProSoft inserts in Rifle shafts with excellent results. No weight issues, since they're VERY light (~1gm) and installed with the tool at the swingweight fulcrum.

I've had them in 2 sets of P X shafts, work fine, plus at $.25 you aren't out much.

If you want to be a little more adventurous you can make your own sensicore.

 

Go to McDonalds and take a few extra straws, or just buy a box for about $.50 for 50. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a role of 1/8" foam weather stripping. Wrap the sticky side of the weather stripping around the straw, and insert your homemade sensicore into the butt end of the shaft approximately 7 inches.

 

Works great. I have used this method on TT BG and PX, with great results.

Haha. Yea, if you ever take a look at the sensicore insert that's pretty much what it basically is!
