Phil's golf balls

Did I see something here?

Since Phil was the desert fox yesterday the Golf Channel zoomed in quite a bit to his balls in the desert. I did not see the usual hex dimples of a Callaway ball on these close ups of Phil removing pebbles from his ball.

Was I seeing things here? The ball had the Callaway logo on it but it sure looked to not have hex dimples.

I saw the same thing. Might have been the angle the camera was at or something but it defiantly looked strange.

Yeah I thought the same thing, however I do not have DVR so there was no way to go back and look. Has he switched to something else, a proto??

I swear that Phil was using a Pro V1 with a Cally stamp on it. It looked super clear in high def.

The number one ball in golf is made Cally tech... or some stupid line like that.

 

Titlist should answer with something like "the number on ball in golf, being played by Callaway's number one player.

Cally Rep - "Well, it's better than the old HEX design balls."

 

PM - "Alright, let's go to the range and I will hit a few."

PM - "Boy, this ball sure does feel like the PRO-V...

 

Cally - "What! No way, it's nothing like the Pro-V1."

 

PM - "Yeah, it feels pretty much like the Pro-V1. Real solid, nice flight, great distance."

 

Cally - "Well, I guess we should probably tell you."

 

PM - "About what?"

 

Cally - "Titleist stole our patents and they made this awesome ball, so instead of us actually making a ball that would be just as good. We believe that since this ball was made with our technology, we technically own it. So we accquired some and restamped them with our logo."

 

PM - "What are you going to call it?"

 

Cally - "We were thinking the Ho-V1."

 

PM - "What are going to do with the old HEX design balls?

 

Cally - "We are going to donate them to some putt putt courses because that is where we got the idea for them anyway."

 

PM - "That makes sense. They are hollow, clicky off the putter and they are way too light."

 

Cally - "Yeah, thank god for the Titleist technicians, or you would be playing an HX HOT right now."

i think this was discussed a few months back too, for some reason the cameras dont pick up the hex dimples very well, and instead pick up on the more circular dimples on the inside of the hex's. hence why it looks hex-less. lol
