Who's played em?
The new dixon earth golf ball has me intrigued. I am one of the guys who complains about the 42 color high gloss packaging that most golf balls that cannot be recycled, but realize that marketing has its place. And I am as environmentally friendly as I can get within reason. Now Dixon released the earth ball that is supposed to be a tournament quality ball at premium price (can be found for $27-39 a dozen online) and can be returned for recycling into more Dixon Golfballs and be made from renewable resources.

The real question is the same as all recyclable renewable green things...what am I giving up compared to the non green alternative?

My "normal" ball is last years NOB, with sideline golfballs when the NOB isn't working for me as a gammutt of srixon balls Z-UR/Z-URS/ and in the windy winter even an AD-333

Has anyone played these for a round or two and have first hand experience compared to your "normal" golfball?

cover wear, distance, greenside manner, bite, putter feel, putter sound..etc.

55, the new Dixon Earth golf ball is the "official ball of the eGolf Professional Tour" as well as their amateur tour.

It is falling into the realm of being a Pro V1x replacement and one of the eGolf Pro Tour guys is playing it. He will debut it on the Nationwide at the first June event in MD.

Ball is long, and at 103 mph swing speed a bit longer than Pro V1. Though not as soft is has lower back spin and much lower side spin. Very accurate in the air. Club pro in SC scored an ace earlier this month from 210yds.

Send the ball back and get a $1 per ball credit against your next Earth purchase. They will even give you fifty cents for anyone else's ball.

The Earth E-D is a price point ball with Sean "The Beast" Fister as the spokesperson.

Very cool idea and the ball is all virgin materials though cover and core are compatible so they can be ground up and the "tailings" sold to other polymer users.

Uhh, slight problem here, most people stop using a ball due to loss as opposed to a scuff. It is always good to get investors who know nothing about what their investing in(see: wall street/mortgage backed securities). Venture capital go bye bye!

Huh?? What???

Recycled packaging materials, no heavy metals in the construction, balls do get recycled.

Oh, at the eGolf Amateur Tour events over Earth Week participants brought in almost 38,000 used golf balls for recycle at 25 events!!

Great balls, good ideas, green is a plus and the company walks the walk rather than just talk the talk. They don't even send paper invoices to customers.

Putting doctor,

Thanks for the reply, they are not for sale here on island in okinawa so I will have to have some ordered in via the web, and try em out. I was wondering how the cover holds up. theres only one or 2 online reviews that are more in depth than the company speel, and one of em said that cover shred was an issue.

STP

not everyone stops using a ball due to loss, I usually stop using a ball due to scuff or in the case of Pro V1's a outer layer fracture recently. I have duffel bags full of golf balls that are all scuffed that I use for chipping practice and eventually end up throwing away, so the idea of being able to recycle em struck a cord with me. If you are losing the sleeve of balls you start the round with you probably are not playing a top $ golfball anyway, unless you just have a ton of disposable income.

i got a sleeve for free in a high school tournament in Myrtle Beach, and just messed around with them in the hotel room hitting chips, pretty firm cover and never really hit em. But gave them to a friend and they said they were good, but would never tell the difference from a high end ball, so that doesnt help.

55, I don't have "fresh" irons but do use a tooth brush between shots. I hit the little ball first and have had not issues with the cover. Good luck with your testing of the ball. Make sure you get the Earth vs. Earth E-D.

Played with their FL gulf coast rep yesterday and he hooked me up with a sleeve after we were done. I haven't had a chance to hit it yet, but I'll report back when I do.
