Every time I see the swing of JM Singh, I nearly have to puke. The swing would be okay for a 20 handicapper.

 

I just do not know, why he is hitting the ball and playing that well.

If it's possible to discuss and comment the swings on this thread I'd like to ask how Quiros and Daly shallow the shaft on the downswing. Do they use the body to do that, the hands or they give a karate chop pulling towards the ground?

I love watching Daly's swing. All through it is the evidence of his using clubs way too long and heavy for him as a kid. The quick inside takeaway followed by the massive overswing. Wonderful impact position though.

Jeev Milkha has quite the most fascinating swing don't you think. I'm imagining trying to make the same backswing and I honestly don't think I'd make contact with the ball.

 

Quiros has an insanely good swing. So much power evident in the transition and such a wonderful downswing plane.

Fourth player was Anders Hansen, 2 time BMW PGA Champion. Don't look for him to win this week however, his caddie was telling him how to swing it when the only thing wrong was the ball position = closed shoulders and a struggle with his path.

 

Daly is hitting it great, needs the putter to warm up though.

I like both Hansen's and Quiros. Anders Hansen is really compact and short. Daly looks great through the impact zone. It's amazing that he can shallow it out and still come from the inside from such a steep position at the top. JM Singh - Wow! Does look like a 20 hcp. After watching Singh, I don't feel so bad about my own swing.

 

Moral of the story - work on the impact zone!

I played with Jeev when we were teenagers and he had the same exact action then. That's one of the keys to his success.

You also forgot that when he practices he pauses for a solid second at the top of his swing.

 

I said this in another thread, but they had his swing in GolfPunk Magazine and if you look at it at impact its 100% perfect. His hands have dropped down lower than they were at address, something that was praised for a great swings like that of Nick Price. The "Milk Man" can also hit it pretty far...

I was at Wentworth yesterday watching these guys on the range for ages. I never thought I would get to see Daly in the flesh so it was great to see him. He looked relaxed and seemed to have good people around him who cared about him, not hangers on.

 

He seemed to be working quite hard on his game. His swing is very smooth looking in real-life.

 

Quiros has power to burn.

I'd never really seen Otto's action before, he is as strong as an ox and that's one thing that saves him. Having said that his bad shots were pretty poor, a nasty pull draw that went miles. Of which he hit a lot.

 

There's only so much bowing of the left wrist he can do to get anywhere near it.
