I need a ball where the only criteria is MOST greenside SPIN only.

I am going to play a course on vacation for a week that the greens are lightning fast, small and all the greens are domed. It is extremely important that the ball I play has bite, spin, and check in order to hold those greens.

I currently play the 09 V1X, but it seems to be spinning a little less than the 07 model for me.

Again, I need help finding the highest greenside spin ball off of irons and wedges.

I would go with the Titleist Pro V1 or the Bridgestone B330S. They spin great for me. I have also heard the Srixon Z Star X is an excellent ball for spin, but I have not tried it.

+1 for the callaway tour i. never seen a ball with so much spin around greens in my life. when i tried it i had to completley alter where i would land a ball on green. i normally allow for some release when a ball hits the green, but the tour i stops where it lands practically.

The Nike ONE Tour spins the most (for me) out of all of the current offerings. I play the TaylorMade TP Black daily at my home course because of the durability only. It does not spin anywhere close to the Nike ONE Tour. I am going to pick up a dozen of the Bridgestone Tour B330S's today so that I can compare them as I have heard that they spin a ton too. The Nike ONE Tours are my favorite ball right now because of the greenside control and I highly recommend them if you are looking to have the highest spinning ball for your trip. If you are close to a Dicks Sporting Goods they are currently offering them on sale at 2 doz for $60. Makes them $30 a dozen and that is an absolute steal!

Go to the "bay" and type in Titleist Tour Balata and voila! You'll give up distance, but what fun they are from 100 yards and in.

Spalding Tour Edition? It will spin back to your feet from 100 yards out.

Any premium ball is up to the task of spin control around the green as long as you're good enough to generate the spin required. A high spin ball can work against you on fast domed greens though, when you hit it short and the ball backs up off the green - think about trajectory as well as spin.

Nike One Platinum is the spiniest ball out on the market. It will help you a lot on the greens. it is also very soft.

if you look at the golf digest test, the clear winner for spin into the green was the b330s

The Calloway balls spin like crazy, even the surlyn ones. The HX Tour and Tour i will do the trick. Tour Balatas are good, as someone mentioned. The B330-S has a lot of spin perhaps, but I've found that they have a dull lifeless feel, hard to really connect to. The Nike One is good too, but it feels a bit "springy" again, and seems to fail to perform as well as the Callaway or Titleist balls.

 

You could always smear the balls with some sort of gum. That's what Balata is, a tree sap gum. Probably not legal, but hey, it's not a tournament, right?

I'd go about it a different way. I'd go get either a Mac Daddy wedge or a Niki VR wedge. IMO its hard to beat the spin the Mac Daddy will put on the ball, but you'll go thru a fair amount of balls b/c it will tear up the cover.

 

As for balls, I'm very partial to B330s's. They check better for me than the Pro V1's.

I've also been very impressed with the Srixon Z Star and it probably won't cost you as much distance off the tee.
