I don't recall ever seeing a post that asked this a question lately, What shafts are currently in Tigers Irons?

I'd be very surprised if tiger's irons were standard DG tour's let alone standard X100's. True temper has bent over backwards for him in the past and I'd be surprised if they weren't a prototype he had designed for himself.

 

Of course he is playing clubs that are pretty much a copy of his old 681's which were basically a copy of his old Mizunos, and since I'm sure he grew up with X100 I guess it's definately possible.

 

Does anyone know for sure?

What kinds of Titleist irons did Tiger play, i know he used some form of the 681 with his own T stamp on them, but i know they were grinded to his custom specs. However i heard he used like 550s (idk im just throwing out a number around it) but im not sure, just somthing i heard. The titleist junkies should know this.

Miura forged blades very similar to 681...limited set replica were realeased in Japan, I think 500 sets. Big Bucks something like $5k if I remember correctly.

his shatfs are a form of the DG Tour, made for him, if you look at any pics of his irons you will see that at his 37.75" 5 iron the steps dont match up to regular DG X100's

The muscles on his blades look nothing like the mizunos (29's or 14's). I'm sure his 1st set of titleist's were pretty close, but I think they have really changed since then.

Have you see an old pic of his PT 3 wood? The shaft is tipped like 6 inches with the last step almost on the ferrule.

his forged T's from titleist were like razors, i have had a chance to hit them in a net about 8 months ago, and all i can say is WOW!! the leading edge is harsh as all hell, but the sweet hits were VERY powerful.

definitely,

 

cuz you can see the steps, it almost all the way down to the ferrule,

 

whereas normal X100 are not even close,

 

it is A LOT stiffer...

Dynamic Golf Tour iron shafts

 

They are similar to the normal Dynamic Golf shaft however the mid and butt sections are MUCH stiffer.

 

Basically a much stiffer shaft throughout.

He is correct, on the official site it shows a cpr wedge in the bag even though it states differently in the text. It also shows irons that are not stamped "T.W." Those aren't his clubs, these are though.

Can you elaborate on how you know this? We have other, pretty reliable infomration that he plays DG Tours.

I can't get too technical, but I would imagine that Tiger's shafts are a DG tour, and I'd say they'd play like an X400 haha. Which I'm sure he could play like a XXXXX100

Have you taken a good look at Tiger's shafts? Check the steps. They don't match whatsoever to retail X100

This is slightly off topic, but I love to read posts about players clubs and specs. I am a big PGA fan, but I other than what the close up image might show, and what the players website says, I would have no idea what players "really" play.

I will never know where you guys get your info, but I will never get tired of reading it. It is fun for me to read and wonder, hmmm....How do you know that?

This has been done before, but the MP14 / 681 / Nike 'they're all essentially the same' argument is a myth. I've got a set of each (admittedly my Nikes are a stock retail set, NOT the same forging as currently used by Tiger and they are not copies of one another.

 

Put an MP14 and a 681 next to one another...

I'm just getting back intothis, bit I know at one time Tiger got a few of the last remaining MacGregor Eye-o-matic steel shafts from Jack that he put in his driver and his PT that was mentioned earlier. From what I understand its a DG with an extra step at the bottom.
