Montana november early December

Question from someone Australia

Having never been to Montana can you golf @ this stage of the year or is the season pretty much over ?

I'll be in Billings for a month & was wondering how I'm going to get my golf fix

Any help would greatly appreciated

I think you'll be relagated to Tiger Woods EA Sports Maybe they'll have a golf dome or something so you can at least get some practice in. Otherwise I'd consider looking for cheap flights on weekends to places a bit further south for weekend trips if that's an option. Maybe Vegas or Northern CA would be options.

I used to live in Billings in 1997-98. You are better off bringing you arctic expedtition parka and snow pack boots. Having grown up in Minnesota, this is the only place I have lived that is just as cold. The apartment I lived in at the time was brand new and one of the benefits of living there was that utilities were included. No joke, I kept the furnace at 80 - having a corner unit with two exterior walls facing the northwest did not help either. You probably have a 1/100 chance to have golf weather at that time. If the weather is bad when you are there (why are you going there at this time of year) remember to keep you car in the ice ruts in the road and the rocks that are on top of the ice are for traction - they don't use sand.

Pretty much out of luck....I live in Canada just north of Montana put play down there a lot and everything is closed by about the first week in November at the latest.....

Hi,
I must beg to differ but I have played a bunch in the winter, in Billings. I live 140 miles from it and know that if the temperature is above 40*, Lake Hills (406)252-9244 is open. Mitchel Golf 245-8691, has simulators, three or four but they also have leagues.

I second that... the only thing is Lake Hill was foreclosed on... Best bet is Peter Yegan GC or Eagle Rock GC... Or Mitchell Golf simulators... 10,000 sq foot shop... great place to spend the day and the best part is they let you bring in your own beer! No lie!
