ESPN playing spoiler??

I got home from work this afternoon and i flippped on the boobtube to watch some golf. As i watching the coverage, ESPN already knew who won and how they won. Jim Furyk won in a playoff but the point i'm making is that they we're just getting to the 18th green and ESPN already had the coverage on ESPN.com. If you ask me it makes golf look like wrestling without the boobs and violence. I know the coverage is behind when they broadcast but if ratings are so important to our sport then why give up the goods before they happen? Just my two cents. Steve.

part of that was because they started early today because of the weather. unfortunately cbs couldn't change its airing.

I thought CBS did a horrible job of picking and choosing what to and what not to show. They cut to commercial right before Immelman's par putt on 17! it was horrible... and then all of a sudden they're on 18 green and Goosen is putting for 8?! It wasn't very good.

Golf coverage as gotten horrible. Other than the Masters it is all difficult to watch. There are just far too many commercials. Sometimes it is seriously one or two golf shots, then a commercial. Hopefully it gets better with the golf channel taking over some next year.

It is really beyond me why networks can't start golf coverage before 3pm on Sunday at least. There is never anything worth watching on weekend mornings... meet the press is the only thing I can think of, but I gotta think golf would get better ratings.

 

So whats the deal with the Golf Channel and PGA next year?

if you think that was bad, spare a thought for us in england, who not only have the disjointed cbs coverage, but then we also have to deal with sky's five minute ad breaks. On average will see 2-3 shots per clip before we are off for some ads, or another look at the leaderboard.

Has anyone written CBS and asked what the heck happened? I agree that was totally unsat! I was PO on the 18th with that coverage.

 

I used to think CBS was the best, now I think they rest on their "Masters" laurels and slack off for the other tourneys. Not that this years coverage of the Masters was great, it also sucked compared to years past. :)

my 2cents on this is that coverage does stink. I say give all teh coverage to the golf channel so I don't have to guess what tournament is showing on what mega-comglomerate media operation that wants to drown me in commercials for stuff I don't buy anyway. It's annoying (yet unfortunately necessary for them).

 

I say TGC all the way.
